Your skin is your largest organ
What are you feeding it? -------------------- Something I would love for us to get into in this group is skincare. Not the 39-step layering routine. But what skin care represents for you. Because for me, I see it as an important and integral part of caring for ourselves. And I want to share the picture below with you all because these two products represent "food for the skin." We often talk about eating for the skin in terms of the literal food we eat. But there's a whole other category that I think is equally valuable: face oils. Depending on which one you use, your skin is getting nutrients like: - beta carotene - vitamin E - omega fatty acids (3, 6, 9 and the lesser known, 7) Personally, I love oils because they contain nutrients and they are multi-taskers for someone like me who believes in taking exquisite care of this massive organ (but who doesn't believe it should require hours or tons of products). And the extra perk is I'm reducing the chemicals I'm exposed to every day (important for that skin microbiome that protects us in so many ways). 👉 How do you approach skin care: do you see it as separate from other forms of care? Do you have any guiding principles for skin care? P.S. the small bottle on the left is sea buckthorn seed oil.

Day 5: What would make this even better?
Today is our last "formal" day of the kickstart (tomorrow and Sunday, you get to freestyle and revisit any of the movement videos that you liked from previous lessons). Before we slide into the weekend, I'd love to know: If I ran this sleep kickstart again, what would make it even better for you? - 🍵 A daily moment of calm - 🏃‍♀️ Moving my body gently - 📵 Less screen time at night - 🌿 Trusting simple over complicated

I have been tending to my mother this past week, so I did not get an opportunity to take part.

@Germaine Satia She's doing fine. She cannot be home alone. My sister and aunt are her 24/7-hour caregiver and they needed a much-needed break. So, I came out of state to tend to her while they took a vacation.
I think you'll find this helpful
I found this very helpful little clip from one of my favorite herbalists, where they explain another aspect of how temperature changes tea. What they mentioned is new to me and once again highlights why I just love learning about + using herbs. Btw, I am working on our next tea "challenge" (details coming this weekend!!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM5GjUFXOgc&list=LL

@Michelle Tubman I thought the same thing.
Brand New Lesson and References for Sleep
Hi all! I've just upload a new lesson on food and herbs in the Restorative Sleep Course! Most of the video focuses on herbs and it went longer than I wanted. That said, I wanted to ensure that I give you different perspectives to work with as you think about using herbs. This will feed into our next challenge where we cultivate a ritual to support our sleep with herbs and a movement practice!

Thank you!
RIP Productivity
Happy Monday lovelies! So...this is something I often get frustrated about and want to get your feedback on. Some video titles I grabbed on YouTube: - You'll Understand Meditation Better Than 99% of People - How to Get Ahead of 99% of People - How to Avoid Regret Better Than 99% of People - How to Be Fitter Than 99% of People Without Ozempic As a writer, I can't deny that these nail many of the mechanics and rules of writing attention-grabbing titles/headlines. And at the same time, these types of titles are actually the least motivating for me because I really don't care what 99% of people are doing. I care about humanity, yes. But tying my decision to meditate, be fit, etc. to an unknown 99%? My goodness! 😊 👉 Let me know your thoughts: do you get motivated by that competitive approach or do you just want to master the art of figuring out what your body needs right now, in this moment (I'm not even going to say be better than you were yesterday because even that still has an element of perpetual competition with oneself). My thinking is that we can't do everything - including the things that are good for us - only because we're under threat (i.e. don't get caught being part of the 99%).

@Michelle Tubman I agree. I don't care about the 99% of people either.
