This headline catches everyone’s attention and is on ads everywhere. Yet every time I click through or even go to events that claimed to teach this, None of them have the secret sauce. None of them have a secret formula. None of them have a clear “how to“ That’s because it doesn’t exist. Are there speakers out there getting paid $30,000 to speak? Of course there are. So if people are getting paid that much, why don’t they just tell everyone how they do it? What I have found to be the case is that it always comes from doing the hard work. There are no shortcuts. You have to go to events, meet event, coordinators, and develop relationships. Earn fabulous introductions. I’ll be honest with you: I have not taken $30,000 for a speaker fee. But I made over $100,000 speaking in my first year in business. Here’s what I know: Speaking as a coach is way more lucrative than getting paid a speaker fee (even if no one knows who you are). If you want to be paid any amount as a speaker fee then you need to have a speech that that’s worth 10 times your fee. You also need to go to people who pay that amount. Start with colleges who literally are given funds for this, and associations who have budgets for it. You’re getting paid to teach what you know.

What’s stopping you from appearing on more stages and podcasts?
