Welcome Aboard
Start with Ownership, You didn’t end up here by accident. At some point — recently or years ago, Life hit hard enough to wake something up in you. A quiet truth. A small courage. A decision that you’re not done yet. This community is for anyone rebuilding their life with intention — men and women who are ready to take ownership, find clarity, and move forward one honest step at a time. Introduce yourself and let us know what you're currently rebuilding in your life.

@Arles Suarez I absolutely do all of that. Cooking for my kids is the lifeblood of our family, for sure. This is entirely something that I put on myself. Walking with my daughter a couple of weeks ago through the city, she said, "Oh, I went to that place for dinner with my friend and her parents. It was obviously an expensive steakhouse." It just made me a little sad, knowing that I couldn't afford to take her there, let alone her friends as well.

@Arles Suarez I do know be a shadow of a doubt with complete and utter faith that it’s going to get better and I will be in a position to do everything I want to do. And to be clear I’m Working towards comfort and ease
Small Steps Matter
We just crossed 25 subscribers on YouTube. Still small…but when you’re rebuilding from the ground up, every step matters. I started Sailing Suavez to document the process of rebuilding life, direction, income, and clarity at 55 — honestly and without pretending everything is perfect. I appreciate everyone who’s joined this community early and contributed to the conversations already happening here. This is slowly becoming something real. What’s one small step you’ve taken recently that you’re proud of?

Congratulations that’s an amazing step in the right direction. We build slowly but we build right? One small step I have taken recently is learning to acknowledge and understand the shadow thoughts that come into my head, but not allow them to dominate. I’m no longer just pushing them down and ignoring them, I acknowledge them and address them, but they are not what’s in charge in my head. If that makes sense ha ha

@Arles Suarez thanks to you as well! It’s nice to know that others are in the same place
Pressure Can Be Invisible
One thing I’ve realized over the last few years is that a lot of pressure is invisible. People carry things quietly. Financial pressure. Family pressure. The pressure of trying to hold things together while rebuilding your life. Most people won’t say it directly. They just keep moving, hoping things improve before everything catches up. I think that’s why honest conversations matter more now. Not to complain. Not to stay stuck. But to stop pretending everything is fine when it’s not. A lot of people are carrying more than they admit. What kind of pressure do you think people hide the most?

@Arles Suarez I think helping people deal with that pressure in a way that feels comfortable is important. So often the way people want to help is by Long drawn out conversations and dredging up the past, making accusations whatever. I think that if we focus on the present and the future, focus on improving things right now and developing skills on how we’re going to move forward is really important.

@Arles Suarez I agree with that. And that’s kind of where I have been. I had a fair amount of money in savings, and I supported those close to me as much as I could. But as money was draining and my business was not working, the pressure became very heavy on me.
What Actually Happened
I’m not here to pretend I figured everything out. I’m rebuilding. There was a point where things went off track — financially, personally, decisions that didn’t work out the way I expected. Some of it was circumstances. A lot of it was on me. Delays. Wrong decisions. Avoiding things I should’ve handled earlier. Now I’m focused on rebuilding with structure, discipline, and better decision-making. That’s what this community is about. Not motivation. Not excuses. Just real conversations and forward movement. If you’re here, I’m assuming you’re rebuilding something too. What happened on your end?

I love the concept of this group. I turn 60 this year and some days I wonder if it’s too late, but I refuse to believe that. I started down the road of creating my own business four years ago. I invested way too much in coaching that was not worth it. I depleted all my savings, but I didn’t quit. Today I’m about to lose my Gmail because I don’t have three dollars in my bank to pay for the extended storage. But that doesn’t even matter. I’m focused on the future. Because I know my business will succeed. I need to get through these times that are very, very difficult financially, so that I can come out on the other end successfully! In a way, I will be rebuilding because I have such a hole to climb out of, but I have an amazing partner and three wonderful children who support me and encourage me every step of the way. I’m doing this.

@Arles Suarez I’m working on building my business, today I finally completed a website - I’m so tech incapable lol! I do not need a website but I like to have it in my pocket. https://therelationshipchef.lovable.app I am working on a couple low ticket offers that I will promote, but mostly I just live networking and connecting!!
