Following the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺThe Prophet ﷺ recited the Qur’an clearly, slowly, and with proper articulation. The Sahābah learned directly from him, and this method was passed down generation by generation. Reading with Tajweed is following the Sunnah in action, not theory.

Protecting and preserving the meaning of the Qur’anic Arabic is precise. A slight mistake in pronunciation—such as confusing ص with س or ق with ك—can alter meanings entirely. Tajwīd ensures that the intended meanings of Allah’s words are preserved and conveyed correctly.

Fulfilling a Divine Command: Allah commands: “And recite the Qur’an with measured recitation (tartīl).” (Qur’an 73:4) Tajwīd is the practical implementation of tartīl. Reading without regard for Tajwīd contradicts this command, even if unintentionally.
