This past April I was able to launch another business called Emafini Mountain Lodge. Emafini Mountain Lodge is a DBHDS-licensed, ARTS-enrolled ASAM Level 3.1 clinically managed low-intensity residential program in Willis, Virginia, serving adult men with substance use disorders, with ASAM Level 2.5 partial hospitalization (outpatient) coming soon. Currently an 8-bed facility we are in the process of adding six more beds, a 75% increase in capacity. What made this possible? A few things. First and foremost, the right mix of people. One partner is the clinical director with 20+ years of experience in this space and has all of the required credentials. The other partner is the driving force behind preparing and expanding the facility's capacity. The last partner, me, was the money. Lots of my friends who practice IBC also do private money lending. In fact, I introduced them to this concept which was completely foreign to all of us at one point not too long ago. Capital attracts opportunity. Experience tells us if an opportunity is safe and worthwhile. This week, the business made the first interest payments to the lenders (all of whom practice IBC) who are earning 12% interest only for 24 months and who will receive an additional 3% exist bonus. We have 8 paying beds, soon to be 14, and then rapidly adding an additional 10 beds by next summer. IBC made this possible.
