Pottery Career Over???
The dreaded Kiln breakdown has occured!!!! I have a old manual kiln sitter. Very basic. It took 28hrs to get to a cone 6 and used $30.00 of electric. I recently had new elements made from Euclids in Canada. I put those new elements in and have only bisqued and glazed fired once a month after putting them in...my firing times went from 6 hrs to 12 to 16 to now 28hrs to make it to cone 6. End product looked horrible as well. I guess its time to buy a new kiln and give up on this old kiln. Pottery Career over??? Never Never defeat me kiln 😆 lol or I will replace you. Ps who else has the Kiln Blues?

Haha no definitely have not given up yet just spent more money on trying to fix it before replacing it. Lol its something about the way the orginal kilns fire pieces that I really like how they turn out. But dreams of a new kiln is on the horizon and maybe just keep this one for bisque firings. Lol thank you for the encouragement Jeanette Stevens

Meet Lady Green Sleeves
This past Tuesday I took a pottery road trip to pick up a used pug mill. I couldn't pass up the deal! This is something I've wanted since my first attempt at reclaim. 😂 It's finally almost a reality. I still need to run wiring so she can come to life, and sn told that her vacuum pump will need some love. So fingers crossed that everything will get back to rights and I'll have a fully functional deairing pug mill operating by June! I've decided to name her Lady Green Sleeves. Hopefully she won't reject me like the tale of old!

I tell ya this week was so hard for me being away from the clay. I litterly had to just throw a mug or 2 the last working day to just help what I was feeling. I was very surprised to be having these emotional experiences just not being able to have time for the clay. It definitely caught me for a surprise!!!
New Mexico Clay Video
I’m very excited that the 2nd video from my Albuquerque trip will post at 1pm central time today! It’s only 21 minutes long, but packed full of behind the scenes tour and Coyote, Amaco and Mayco info. I hope you get a chance to watch it. Early views, likes and comments really help it reach more viewers! I will follow this up next week with a video about Coyote Clay.
