Student Emails
These student emails can help us in so many different ways. I have been doing my research! Make sure you guys use them and get every discount and benefit that is offered to you! Here are 3 websites that offer student discounts on a variety of things: 1. UNiDAYS 2. Student Beans 3. SheerID UNiDAYS and Student Beans have worked fine for me so far. You will have to email Student Beans when they do the verification, though, because our school doesn't show in their system yet. - Microsoft 365 (FREE) → Word, Excel, PowerPoint - GitHub Student Developer Pack → $1000+ value - Canva Pro (FREE) → branding, ads, product images - Notion Pro (FREE) → organize your business - JetBrains / coding tools (FREE) if you go tech Apparently, all these are free for students too! ā˜ļø This is amazing because we really have the opportunity to save so much money and start businesses NOW!

Week one discussion for Business
So the prompt is as follows, Describe a situation where solving one person’s problem made things harder for someone else. How should an early founder or manager decide value claims to prioritize? This is an excellent discussion topic for the first week given the MGMT 101 topics for week one! I’m glad to see they have it tailored to the week and it’s not something barely touching the coursework and asking us to tie it all into our learning materials. For anyone else who may be in the business pathway do you have anything you’ve felt was difficult to learn so far? Or has everything felt like common sense? Personally all my MANY years of customer service experience have made these first lessons feel easier.

My husband and I are in that pathway. We both felt that it was a simple first week and have both already started week two. I will say on my part it was plentiful in things I already knew and things I did not. I took about 6 pages of notes on week one itself. The hardest part I would say was the discussion board. I have been running my own business for a few years and have been slowly building it from the ground up. I could have actually used my own business experience in the response which looking back may have actually been better then the one I did use. I am sure as time does move it may get tricker. I also loved how they broke everything down in a great way with the videos and even watched part one on YouTube since they started on part 2. It is refreshing how week one was business themed and not the normal general education courses.

@Bethany Cuevas did you know that you can also have it tailored to what makes sense for your learning style or topic you want to focus on. I am having it use my business for the scenarios and it helps me think on what I have done and what can be done differently. Definitely puts the learning into a tailored fit.
The beginning.
Well, I got into my courses and I started doing it, and I'm about halfway through so we'll see how this works out. So far, it's just formatting Problems that I'm running into, all the devil in the details. But I'm enjoying it I hope everyone is doing well.

I will say this teaching is refreshing. I have it tailored to my business since I am in the business track and honestly I may have even started to use some of the skills that were taught. I can say i do not have a regret going back to school, except that I was not in the first sessions.
April 6th Start date
Who else is starting in the April 6th Cohort? What degree(s) are you going for and what are you most excited for? I am going for AAS in Business Administration- Entrepreneurship & Innovation followed by a Bachelor's in Computer Science with a business focus. I am most excited for this experience as it is a new concept of learning/schooling and the growth that will come not just with myself but my business as well. Starting over is exciting and knowing that I am being an amazing role model for my children is a great feeling. By showing them it's never to late to better yourself in education and with a great partner anything is possible. My husband will be along side me with the first two years for the AAS and when we start our bachelor's we will be going in different paths. Here to the start of something amazing congratulations to everyone accepted and I hope this journey is as incredible as you are!

@Matthew Mailand make sure you are pacing yourself and as you go forward to do some practice lessons on the practice tab. You have to be active at least once every three days or can be kicked off the scholarship if you got the pro. I did a practice run on college algebra and trig whew that was rough.
šŸš€ WELCOME TO ADMINISTRATION – Heather Brooks šŸš€
Today, we recognize leadership in action. From the very beginning, Heather Brooks has been a cornerstone of this community—consistently showing up, stepping in, and making sure no member gets left behind. Whether it’s answering questions, guiding others, or simply being present when it matters most… she’s been there. What sets Heather apart is not just her willingness to help—but the quality of that help. She takes the time to research, to truly understand, and to bring back real value that elevates not just individuals, but the entire group. That level of intention is rare—and it’s powerful. As we continue to grow and build something truly special here, having Heather Brooks step into an administrative role is a natural progression. Her vision, her standards, and her plans for what we’re creating behind the scenes are aligned with where we’re going—and I can confidently say… what’s coming next is going to be amazing. This is what leadership looks like. This is what building together looks like. Let’s all show support and congratulate Heather Brooks as she steps into this role—this is only the beginning. šŸ’ŖšŸ”„
