Our stormy morning glimmer
So we have really heavy winds at the moment. So strong, that you don't want to stand under gum trees and you can't hear each other talking, you would have to yell. You also shelter your eyes at times. This is quite normal for us on top of the mountain, especially in winter. Pax had ants in his pants this morning and we decided to go outside and brace the wind. You can have weather like this for 1-2 weeks, so you adapt and learn to adjust. Pax was so keen to explore the property for the latest sniff emails (there is a new girl dog in the neighbours yard who often escapes and leaves her pee emails everywhere 😆), that he took off like a rocket. And because I was wrapped up in so many clothes and 2 hoodies, the wind making it hard to see, I couldn't see him all of a sudden. Couldn't spot his fox red tail wagging in the bush. And then the glimmer came: I knew he would come back, without me having to call him as I doubted my voice would travel much in the wind. Pax just naturally checks in regularly and comes back. That's our rhythm on the property. He can run around like a maniac, but he checks in. And I was so calm about it as I just trusted him. And like clock work, he came back a few moments later. And that was such a lovely glimmer of connection and trust. And we both smiled at each other when reunited in the crazy wind.

A little community tidy-up ✨
Hi lovely people, As discussed in our last community call, here is my summary of the community tidy-up that we talked about. I just put it down in writing as I know quite a few people couldn't make it. I’ve finally done a little tidying behind the scenes and simplified some of our categories to hopefully make it easier to know where things belong. Thank you everyone for the feedback in the last call. ✨ Magical Glimmer Moments I’ve merged a few of our previous categories into this one. This is the place for those beautiful little moments with your dogs that make you smile, pause, appreciate or notice a bit of everyday magic. 💛 Community Circle Our general gathering space! Use this for conversations, questions, announcements, sharing what’s happening, asking for support or starting a discussion with the community. 📚 Resources Found an interesting article? A fascinating bit of science? A cool fact, podcast, video or resource you think others might enjoy? Pop it in here. 😂 Joy Scroll This is our deliberately happy corner of the internet. Memes, funny dog pictures, ridiculous moments, humour and anything that gives us a little dose of joy. And one little reminder… Please try to keep posts dog-centric. 🐕💛 That doesn’t mean we can’t talk about ourselves. In fact, so much of The Magic in Dogs is about us humans and the lives we share with our dogs. But when you post, have a little think: ✨Where’s the dog connection?✨ Your story, experience, thought, struggle, funny moment or interesting fact can absolutely be about human life, but finding the thread that connects it back to dogs helps keep this community coherent and makes The Magic in Dogs feel different from a general Facebook feed. There are a million places online where we can post everything happening in our lives. This little corner has a purpose: Happier Dogs. Happier Humans. And discovering a little magic together. ✨ Thank you for helping me protect what makes this community special. I couldn't do it without you. 🥹
