I will be an Authority Marketer by educating, not just selling. I want to help people understand the real estate process in Belize, including land ownership, legal requirements, costs, and potential risks. My goal is to build trust, answer questions, and help people make informed decisions rather than pressure them into a sale

Assignment #2 – think of 1 thing that you can do to make yourself an authority brand in my area for real estate. I will utilize my Credit Union affiliation by writing articles on real estate directed at Credit Union members. These will be posted on the CU social media pages and cross-linked to my pages. I will offer responses to questions raised – this will funnel into consultations and leads. Suggested articles are: 1) Thinking of buying your first home – things to know 2) How to apply for a mortgage loan 3) Rent or buy – things to consider 4) You have (or can buy) a residential lot – what next? 5) Are you renting premises? – what landlords and tenants should know 6) Financing your residential construction 7) Financing a commercial building/development.

I plan to build my authority brand by hosting real estate and real estate investment seminars that educate everyday Belizeans on how real estate works in Belize. These seminars can include presentations from my associates in the real estate, engineering, and financial industries, making it easier for people to understand what goes into owning a home and investing in real estate as a business.

I think one of the hardest things for me will be building my presence and finding clients. I have always been a very private person and have very little digital footprint, so putting myself and my business out there through social media and other marketing platforms will be a new experience for me. My background has mostly been in business administration, and my exposure to real estate has been limited to my own personal experiences. So, learning how to market myself, build a client base, and become more visible in the real estate market will definitely be a challenge.

Having an MLS in Belize would make property valuations much easier and more accurate. Agents would be able to see what similar properties actually sold for instead of just looking at asking prices. This would help when comparing things like location, lot size, condition, and features of a property. For example, if I am pricing a house in San Ignacio, I could look at recent sales of similar homes in the area and use that information to come up with a fair price. It would make the process more reliable for both buyers and sellers.
