Welcome to the "Know Your Worth, Find Your Fit" Community
Hi Friends! This first post is a bit of a guard rail for myself, mixed with setting a standard and tone for our group, and a source of accountability for my future self. If you’ve ever felt like you had to constantly prove yourself at work…or wondered, “Is it me… or is this just not the right place for me?” You’re curiousity has led you to the right place! For 13 years, I stayed in a role that didn’t feel like the right fit.I ignored early red flags, internalized criticism, and kept trying to prove myself because I thought the problem was me. Over time, I realized something important: I wasn’t failing. I was trying to succeed in an environment that didn’t align with my values. That realization changed everything for me. In my next role, my work was valued. I grew from entry level to second in command in five years. What this community is: - This is a space where we journey to figure out what fits. This is not a space to stay stuck in what went wrong or relive or compare bad experiences. How we approach challenges here: - We are not quick to blame. We stay in discovery mode, staying open and reflective helps us identify real problems. Sometimes the environment isn't right, sometimes we go through personal things, and often times it is a mixture of both. When sharing, we're going to keep it productive: - No naming companies or individuals (we're here for you, not them) - Keep context brief (no long venting) - Focus on what you're learning and want to do next (momentum) Now that we have that out of the way, it's time to introduce yourself! - What brought you here? - What is something you've learned about yourself through work experience? - What does your "fit" look like to you, today? I will never tell you what to do. This is your journey and your choice. WELCOME IN!! It's your time to shine!
