@Scott Nicholson A lot of the programs here have exactly that - an agreed upon principles of play and offensive/defensive systems. Once someone is in the program, it becomes less about what age group they move to, and more about learning how best to play your role.
SSG
today in my workouts did a lot of SSG to translate the skills were we working on. I was able to take the same SSG for all 4 levels I trained today. Made the focus more detailed for my Middle ,HS& college guys and made it simple for my elementary/ Beginners .

Sounds like you hit the sweet spot of not having to reinvent the wheel each time you trained a group, whilst accomodating the skill set of each level.
Basketball content
What's a good app to use to edit my workouts ?

DaVinci Resolve has a bit of a learning curve, but has a free version which is more than ample for video edits. Also, if you know a bit about tech, using FFmpeg is ultra fast to timestamp and cut up film into smaller clips.
First time in the gym with my guys
Thursday, I’ll have like 45 minutes in the gym with some of my varsity players from next year. Mind you this is the first time I’ll see them with a ball in their hands as I’m a first year head coach at a new school. This will also be the first time they’ve touched a basketball since their season ended. Anything I should do with them or any advice to get a good evaluation on them?

I’d use the first session for nothing more than observation. After introductions, play 5 on 5 and watch and take notes on what you like and what you think can be improved, who communicates on the floor and who might need more encouragement, and whatever else you value in a team.
Drills for Defense
Are there any drills here to work on defensive skills?

One saying I have heard before that I like is “feet guard feet, hands guard hands”. Especially for younger players, this can emphasise getting your feet and chest in front of the player first to take away space before thinking about stealing or blocking.
