When anxiety motivates: the bell‑curve analogy.
The clearest way to understand this is through the Yerkes–Dodson Law, a well‑established psychological concept that shows how anxiety and performance follow an inverted U‑shaped (bell‑curve) pattern. At low levels of anxiety, motivation is too weak; at moderate levels, performance peaks; and at high levels, anxiety becomes overwhelming and performance drops. How does anxiety effect you?

Stress to Strength Week 4
We’re excited to have renowned guest speaker Dr. Leonaura Rhodes, a physician, brain‑health expert, coach, and trainer joining us to speak in depth about stress. Because stress isn’t just a “feeling.” It’s a biological process that rewires your brain to stay stuck in overdrive. The good news is that with the right tools, you can retrain your brain to break the stress cycle and build resilience that lasts. https://www.drleonaurarhodes.com/

In your day‑to‑day life, what do you do when things get harder and you can’t make sense of what’s happening?
Do you pause and reflect? Reach out to someone you trust? Push through with routine? Or do you find yourself shutting down until things feel manageable again? There’s no right or wrong answer, just honest awareness. Sharing your approach can help others feel less alone and maybe even discover a new strategy that works for them.

It really depends on each person’s situation. I have an optimistic approach and naturally lean toward positive psychology. For me, it’s very simple taking a walk in nature, drinking plenty of water, and even a quick power nap make a big difference.
