Hey, it’s me Dan
Hey sports fans, Dan Diemer here: Pomona-Pitzer class of 2018. Currently I’m the goalie on the SDAC 20s team. I started playing polo around 12 in water polo capital of the world: St. Louis, Missouri. I grew up playing pretty much all the sports and water polo just trickled into my life. I showed up at Pomona Pitzer and pretty much rode the bench all year. My coach was determined to make me a field player. I spent the summer after freshman year doing two a days training with Long Beach State playing field. And of course, a week before the season starts, I get a call from my coach letting me know that our other goalie quit the team. The rest is history. I collected a pair of SCIAC championships, a few plaques with my name on them, and knocked down a couple top ten D1 teams in college. I took a well deserved break from polo for awhile after school. Three years ago, I moved to San Diego and have been back on the grind. During this time I’ve spent a lot of time and thought on what it means to be an athlete and what it takes to perform at your highest level. More importantly, I spend a lot of energy building teams and understanding what you need to help others perform their best. I’m incredibly thankful for the sport and everything it has brought me. I truly wouldn’t be the man I am today without the drive and dedication and morning practices that shaped me. Shape It and help it shape you too.

For anyone who doesn't know @Dan Diemer, Dan is the Man. He's an inspiration on the masters circuit and he personally helped me get back into Water Polo in a big way. I basically didn't coach polo at all in 2024 coming off of a hip/back injury and I wasn't planning on coaching until Dan asked if I wanted to coach the SDAC (San Diego Athletic Club) Masters team for their 2025 American League run. Three 3-0 weekends later and a first place finish got me fired up about the sport again. He was the captain, talisman, heart and soul of that team and made sure the vibes were always there. If you're wondering what it takes to stand out as a player, be a leader like Dan. 1. Organize the team, send the first text, and the second and third, do whatever it takes to bond the team together. 2. Prepare like crazy, Dan would share his training and preparation and encourage others to do the same, he'd watch film, identify shooters and defensive liabilities, he did the most out of anyone on the team before we stepped foot on the pool deck. He doesn't get in shape, he stays in shape. I'm stoked to have him in here and can't wait to here more of his stories from a decorated water polo career.

@Jacob Gerran Let's freaking go bro, I think I'll host a big backyard BBQ for the community for that one.
Introduction
Hey guys, my name is Jake and I've been playing for 9 years. I started playing water polo at the very end of 12U and I have continued to play all throughout highschool, I am now playing water polo at Arizona State University. I initially planned to play college water polo however, after a labrum tear my junior and senior year it would've made it hard to compete at that level. Today I am a member of the ASU water polo club as well as a member of the scout team for the Division 1 girls at ASU. I am also a coach here in THE water polo school and a coach at Carlsbad water polo club.
