Weekend win
Opening the batting against top of the league chasing a large total of 224 was quite intimidating, but I took it as an opportunity to focus on being more aware of self 1, where in a high pressured situation there was more opportunity for self 1 to influence my batting. A slow start personally to good bowling had me having to really focus on nailing my routine and persevering through plenty of chat and doubts from self 1 which a couple of weeks previously would have caused me to force a shot that wasn’t there and give it away. So very happy from that point as my strike rate has always been one of my largest negative distractions when batting and pushing through a tough time was great. After I felt more comfortable at the crease I started nailing the ball at fielders, which on a different day could have caused my 31 off 59 to be a run-a-ball 60. Still I was happy I reset and stuck to routine rather than getting frustrated. Got out by not resetting for my first ball after drinks and slightly forcing a shot to a good ball and getting out in a slightly unlucky way. Felt pretty frustrated afterwords after getting out in an innings that could have taken my side into a position to win the game, leaving the pitch with far fewer runs than I thought I could have been on at that point and a scorecard that didn’t reflect how good I felt in the middle. However so many positives and increased awareness of more subtle self 1 distractions which I have ignored or pretended weren’t there in previous innings. Overall happy with my takeaways from the game and improving my trust in self 2 to bat, after anchoring to my routine more because of being more aware of self 1.
Win!
Good Weekend for me in the league. 85* 4-43 All the better to be batting with my personal mate @Tom Naish as he batted beautifully to get to his maiden league 50.

Good weekend for me in my first team debut in the league. 6 overs going for 9 runs. So much better than in pre season where I put myself under too much pressure. Being able to express myself to the opposition overseas and backing myself to execute.

Done
What are your five biggest external distractions at the crease?
Mine are 1. Scoring rate and feeling I need to push it on 2. The pitch 3. Searching for a 'good shot' and timing 4. Feeling as if I have to force something to get the batsman out and not trust my best ball 5. Not wanting to let my side down

1) my run rate. 2) not getting out 3) not letting myself and my team down
🧠 Welcome to Mental Muscle 🏏
For serious young cricketers ready to master the mental game and dominate under pressure. A few years ago, I was stuck. I trained harder than anyone. I cared more than most. But when the moment came — the big game, the key innings — something inside would tighten. I’d freeze. I couldn’t play the way I knew I could. I tried the usual mindset tricks: “Just be confident.” “Focus more.” “Visualisation” Nothing worked.Until I found a shift and began applying it, piece by piece, to cricket. And everything changed. In my first season applying this my game transformed in game and my rate of improvement in practice sky rocketed. But it wasn’t about the stats. It was that I finally felt calm, focused, and locked in — under pressure. Now I want to show you how to do the same — before it's too late. Before the confusion, frustration and pressure chip away at your love for the game — or worse, hold you back from selection, performance, and becoming the player you could be. 🏏 This community is for players who: - Want to perform under pressure like they do in practice - Are aiming to average 50+, take bags of wickets, and dominate at their level - Want to become the player teammates respect and selectors remember - Are ready to use the mental game to unlock faster improvement, clarity and results This is not theory. It’s built by someone who’s still playing — and knows what it feels like out in the middle. Not some Dr who hasn’t been there. ✅ Here’s what to do next: 1. 🎥 Watch my quick introduction and unlock the opportunity to get a free call with me where we discuss your bespoke plan 2. 🎯 Book your free onboarding call→ and claim your free 3 step focus PDF: 👉 https://tally.so/r/nrXqK5 3. 💬 Introduce yourself below in the comments: Name Role (batter/bowler/all-rounder) Your current goals in cricket/sport Where you’re currently playing 4. 📘 Explore these resources to get started fast: 🔥 Starter Roadmap – How to Get the Most Out of Mental Muscle https://drive.google.com/file/d/12cWW9ACM1q94AfkaCFucaoyOod0qVBlX/view?usp=sharing

Hi Alfie, I’m an all-rounder looking to prove to the people around me and myself that I am as good as deep down I know I can be and looking to do it on a consistent basis.
