Let’s talk about what SUCCESS really looks like in our industry… 💭
I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately. We see the highlight reels on social media—the packed schedules, the celebrity clients, the “fully booked” posts. But is that what true success actually means? Here’s what I’m curious about: What does success look like to YOU? Is it: • Financial freedom and being fully booked? • Time freedom to spend with your family? • Creative fulfillment and doing the work you love? • Building a legacy and teaching the next generation? • Something completely different? Here’s the truth I’ve learned: Success isn’t one-size-fits-all, and sometimes chasing someone else’s definition of success leaves us burned out and unfulfilled. EASY WIN FOR YOU: Drop a comment below with ONE word that describes what success means to you personally. My 1 word is: IMPACT💯 I want to dive deeper into this conversation because I think we’ve been sold a narrow definition of what it means to “make it” in beauty and hair. There’s so much more to unpack here. 🎥 JOIN ME LIVE: Thursday at 12:30 PM I’m hosting a live Q&A where we’ll talk about: ✨ Redefining success on YOUR terms ✨ The real metrics that matter (hint: it’s not just follower count) ✨ How to build a career that fulfills you, not just pays you ✨ YOUR questions answered in real-time Comment your ONE WORD below, and I’ll see you Thursday at 12:30 PM for the live! Let’s get this conversation started.

Great Morning, I would say persistency because you need that when the motivation isn’t there or determination. There may be times when you remember the why and not even care. Our journeys are filled with so many high and low moments that you have to remain consistent being persistent no matter what.
How would you have handled this?
We all know so well how students are just like your kids and they know everything. So they think they do! As educators, we must learn how to be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to an anger (James 1:19-20) Whew… 👀 Now that can be very challenging. however, to truly be able to operate in that manner, you must have a relationship with God. Better yet being the best educator who’s effective and serves well you have to have a relationship with God! This walk is spiritual and it can bring out the best and also the worst of you if you’re not intentional. Is bigger than Hair.💯 So how would you handle this? You are the cosmetology instructor, who is to lead by example however you post content on your social media page that does not represent you as a PROFESSIONAL OR LEADER. Now it has caused them to lose total respect for you and there, cursing, talking back and responding back to you with you can’t tell me what to do because look at you on social media !it causes them to lose respect for you. They’ve shared your content of you acting out of character with other students and it has them viewing you as one of their equals. How would you handle this situation?

I agree.. we all fall short but every moment is teachable even for the teacher. I’d say being accountable and transparent and owning it and making peace with yourself so when they want to bring it back to your remembrance to dig at you, you’ve already repented and moving forward in God’s forgiveness and now walking in that and forgive yourself.
How will you commit to your 30 Days that’s remaining?
Whew! It’s been a year hasn’t it! If I must say, through it all GOD HAS BEEN GOOOOD!👏🏽👏🏽🙌🏽 However the year is not complete and we still have goals that we must meet. Remember it’s not how we start but how we finish. *One of my unfinished goals that I must continue to commit to in the next 30 days is, Building My Online Course Completely out! How I’m going to commit to my goal in the next 30 days? I’m going to continue to record the content, edit and launch 🚀 the course🙌🏽 How are you going to commit to 1 of your unfinished goals in the next 30 days?

Hello! I’m going to commit to a routine in my lifestyle. Be more intentional with my time and my time management. How ? Creating a realistic schedule of what my day to day consist of. Write it down and make it plan and seek my Father on what He wants me to do. Also, having more quiet time to hear from Him and no longer rushing through life. I want to be able to appreciate where I’m at more in life vs what lies ahead.

Don’t Let Your Students Know More Than You !
This new generation of stylist are a different breed. They feel they know everything and it’s difficult to tell them anything, unless they think you know more than them. They will fight boldly to defend their argument if you as the educator are not confident in how to teach them the why behind the what’s in a manner that silences and make their argument weak! (HUSH)! Most of them spend countless hours on social media, Google and listening to others that they deem credible to give them information. The information that they’re getting majority of the time comes from a source that they fell they know, like and trust. Regardless if the information is inaccurate, they believe it because of the respect and honor they have for their trusted source. So my question to you is… HOW ARE YOU POSITIONING YOURSELF AS AN AUTHORITATIVE FIGURE TO YOUR STUDENTS AND BECOMINGTHEIR TRUSTED SOURCE?
