Live q&a ..
Hey guys it would be amazing to get to know you better. I’m going to run a live session nextweek. It’ll be a mix of Q&A and getting to know you better. If you’ve got questions around abstract work, ink, texture, or anything you’re stuck on, bring them along. I’ve put up a poll for dates - vote for what works best 👍🏾

New online courses
Guys, if you are keen to learn more techniques from me, what would they be, if I was to create another course, I’d love to know what you’d like to know more about!

@Gino Devolder of course
Everyone introduce yourself
I would love to know from you all : - what kind of art you do? and : - 1 thing that you have struggled with as an artist? I'll go first! I'm an artist focusing predominantly on abstract textured paintings, but more recently I have decided to paint things like flowers and faces. The things I have struggled with the most as an artist is knowing when to stop working on a painting, as sometimes I keep painting and then end up ruining it!

@Kim Tjernberg That’s really nice to hear Kim - appreciate that 👍🏾 Black ink drawings are a great foundation as well, there’s a lot you can build from that. And yeah, finding time and consistency is probably the hardest part for most people. Even small bits here and there can make a difference. Good to have you in here - feel free to share some of your work 👍🏾

@Dave Pateman Nice - good to have you here Dave 👍🏾 That’s a solid combination as well, especially with the Venetian plastering - you’ve already got a strong feel for texture and materials, which translates really well into art. A year in is still early, so you’re in a good position to build on it. Going full time is a great goal - just keep consistent with it alongside work and it’ll start to build. Would be good to see some of what you’ve been working on 👍🏾
What do you need help with?
I’d love to know… I want to do a Q&A! So list your questions now and I will collate!

@Yusna Yusop thank you. Confidence comes with time, but again, I want to do a call, to answer this, in more detail.

But what I will say A lot of it comes from just starting, even when you’re not feeling confident. Try keeping it small - quick sketches, short sessions, nothing with pressure to be “good”. The more you do that, the easier it gets. Confidence usually comes after doing, not before.
Getting to know you
Let’s keep this simple. Drop something you’ve been working on recently - finished or not. Or even just say what kind of art you’re into 🫶🏽

@Ruby Naseem this is a question for you to answer!

@Leigh Andresen Nice - alcohol inks are a great place to start 👍🏾 They’ve got that natural movement which you’re already picking up on, and it translates really well into watercolour or acrylic ink.
