This one showed me that I have a serious problem with drawing what I want to see instead of what I see. I realized halfway through that I had completely lost focus and began to treat the drawing like a result of my imagination rather than a result of concentration on the reference. I will do better.

I’ve been drawing for about 2 years now but hardly ever attempt portraits. They always get close but not just right and then I overwork them to get them right. I mostly draw people’s pets and wildlife. These are a few I’ve done over the two years but I have deleted the references.

I found the triangulation method much easier this time but perhaps because the proportions are more simple. A lot left to do but back from holiday and too much else to catch up on although my fingers are just itching to draw instead 😂

This was a very frustrating process even though the subject was simple 😡 💢 👊 🥊. Im going to beat up my charcoal!!
