20 CHESS TIPS!
Here are some key tips to help you improve your Elo in chess: - Follow the fundamental principles of the opening, middlegame, and endgame. - Always consider candidate moves, checks, captures, and threats. - Openings with an advanced c-pawn, like the English or Sicilian, can be effective. - Calculate as precisely as possible before making a move. - Identify the strengths and weaknesses of each move. - On Chess.com, enable Focus Mode (Settings -> Live Games -> Always use Focus Mode -> Save). - Recognize tactical motifs like removing the defender, overloading, and more. - Ensure all your pieces have an active role in the game. - Keep most of your pieces protected to avoid blunders. - Moves like a6, h6, a3, or h3 should be played only when your position is solid. - If you're unsure what to play, activate your least active piece. - Trade bad pieces for better ones when possible. - Always prepare thoroughly before launching a risky attack. - If a move looks suspicious, calculate carefully to determine if it's a trap. - Master "Sneak 100" by creating threats or attacking weaknesses while retreating. - Keep your opponent under pressure with continuous threats. - Avoid tunnel vision—balance attacking with defending your own position. - Analyze all your games, especially losses, to learn from mistakes. - Stay focused until the very last move—never relax too soon. - Never resign! Your opponent might blunder or disconnect—you never know! By following these principles, you’ll sharpen your skills and climb the ranks!
