Write On Track: Monthly Author Accountability Meetup
Write On Track meets on the second Friday of every month, and it is an accountability experience that will get you to your goals more quickly and efficiently! Each month, we come together as a group to set and track our writing and publishing goals, celebrate progress, work through roadblocks, and cheer each other on in a space that is honest, supportive, and focused on real results. Our goal tracking is built around SMART Goals, a proven framework that turns vague intentions into clear, achievable action steps. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound. Instead of saying "I want to write more," a SMART goal sounds like "I will complete my book outline by the third Friday of this month." That kind of clarity is what creates momentum and gets books finished. We use a shared goal tracker during our meeting that is only visible via screen share during the live session. All conversations and goal tracking stay completely within our group and are never shared with anyone who does not attend. What happens in Write On Track, stays in Write On Track, so make sure you show up to be in the room. This is not a passive experience---because it's for thought leaders who are serious about making their book a reality and want the accountability and community support to get there. When you say your goals out loud to people who genuinely want to see you succeed, your momentum shifts completely. Come ready to commit to your goals, connect with fellow authors, and make real progress on your book. Your book deserves to get written, and this community is here to help you do exactly that. We will see you on the second Friday of the month! Make sure to download your calendar reminder today.

I'm looking forward to this!
If your book were a TED Talk, what would the title be and what’s the core message?
What would your talk be called and what is the one message you want people to remember?

I actually *am* planning on doing a TEDx talk on the theme of my book! Book title is "Hearts Are Meant to be Broken: The Intrinsic Resilience of Grief." The TEDx talk title is going to be "Grieving the Lost Future." The core message of both is that humans need dreams in order to thrive, but sometimes those dreams shatter. Fortunately, we have a built-in process to reconcile and integrate those two, seemingly opposing parts of life — and that process is grief.

Thank you so much for this! It's been 10 years since I've published a book to KDP, and even if I remembered everything, I'm sure it's changed!

Is this the event that's listed on the calendar as Group Coaching?

Thank you @Sheryl Robinson for pointing out that members only get points to level up when they get likes from other members. I don't think this is fair, so here is my letter to Skool recommending changing the platform. While you're here, make sure to post a comment and LIKE three other comments to boost our levels! "Hello, I really like the Skool platform. I've been using it, and I've got engaged members. I like the clean, bright interface and the intuitive features. However, there's a major issue with your platform's leveling system. You suggest preventing people from posting until they reach level 2; however, they can't reach level 2 unless someone likes their post. You need likes to level up, and you can't level up unless you post. So, preventing newcomers from posting blocks them out of leveling up. Also, members should get points for posting. I have members who are deeply frustrated that they are getting on daily and posting good content, but they aren't leveling up. Lastly, I'm having an issue with your auto-mod robot. It keeps flagging an author in my group who is very famous and a real person. I want to know how to get this removed from her profile."

I especially agree that members should get points for posting. I am assuming that it's supposed to discourage spamming in favor of content that provides real value, but getting one point for a post plus additional points when people like it seems fair.
