I can’t believe that I hosted this event in 2019 with just 10 people in a conference room—and now, over 500 people from every part of the world are flying in to learn how to grow their businesses sustainably and ethically. Back then, if you would’ve told me this was coming, I would’ve laughed. I mean, there were only 10 people in the room! But I’m so glad the me who only had 10 people didn’t look at that small start and give up. She didn’t believe that 10 meant it was over. She believed that 10 meant there were thousands more on their way. And she was right. That’s why today, I can boldly say I know next year at Black Women Sell Live we’ll have 1,000 people. But more than that, I’m just grateful we didn’t quit when it was small. I want to talk to the person reading this who feels small right now. Maybe you think because you only have 100 people on your email list, you’ll never get to 100,000. Or because you’ve got just 1,000 followers, you’ll never reach 200,000 across platforms. Or because you only made $100—or $1,000—in your first year, you’ll never make millions. That is a lie. If you don’t give up, if you keep showing up and seeing yourself the right way, it will happen for you. But you’ve got to invest. Not just money—your time, your energy, your intentionality.
