A TASTE OF DECEIT!
My first chapter is live: Down on his luck, journalist Jack Sutherland pitches a profile on famous foodie Serendipity Brown, tasked by his editor to uncover her husband Richard's disappearance. Jack arrives at her art nouveau-style estate, Bishops Ridge farm, and is boisterously welcomed by the flame-haired chef. Serendipity settles Jack into her missing husband’s former study, fueling his investigative instincts. Over strong drinks, she invites him to her upcoming cooking demonstrations at her home. My novel: A week-long demo by a famous cook has four guests hide links to her missing husband. A romance with a visiting journnalist uncovers the truth. I'll be posting a chapter at a time on my site. (I hope I'm allowed to post this here @Rachael Bermingham?)

@Julie Burns She's on her honeymoon I think. She was racing around preparing for her wedding last time I spoke to her. She plans to write another book with her new husband. Cool right?!

You two are honestly the BEST! It's so wonderful to see you both sharing the love! Who knew that winning a book would have such an impact and bring so much joy to many! It makes me so happy! Thanks girls. 💕
What do you think of this?
I'm thinking it's time for a bit of a freshen up! We've been open now for 3 months, and I'm wondering if we should update our 'about' image. We've been playing around with it and have come up with this. What are your thoughts? It's as much your community as it is mine, so I'd love to get your insight because the more you love it, the more others will too! Love it, don't like it? Is it modern enough? Change something? Over to you...

🎥 📚 Dyslexia, Mental Health, Fighting for Survival, Diving for Treasure & So Much More in this Reading Room Interview with Author Scott Soutter!
Scott's mammoth story is only surpassed by his huge heart! The author of The Boy on the Log grew up in the rough and tough Gulf of Queensland's mid-western town of Mount Isa. His childhood was a challenging and uncomfortable one, but it ultimately shaped his character. In this fantastic Reading Room session, he describes his life journal and how it became a book to show others what they can achieve, emphasising that anyone can overcome adversity. From boilermaking and commercial diving to facing addiction and major financial loss—lessons that contributed to his current role as a mentor and mental health advocate, Scott's message of "consistent persistence," self-love, and the importance of understanding one’s own emotional literacy is an important one for everyone. His "fight for survival" is inspirational, and his battle with feelings of inadequacy, loneliness, and writing a book with dyslexia is raw, but he shares how, rather than pushing them down, medicating them, or seeing them as negatives, they are instrumental in growth and unique success. Buy The Boy on the Log here.
