My love language is gift giving, and sometimes I apply that sympathy to myself a little too readily! Tough day? Let's buy a donut. Stressed out? Another season of TV would help. Feeling upset? How about buying yourself something fun off of Amazon? Anyone else do this too??

@Kurt Mell I just found out last year that I have ADHD and one of my favorite pieces of advice was "do it the moment you think about it". Obviously that doesn't work all the time, but I would rather randomly brush my teeth at 3:07pm because it occurred to me vs forgetting about it entirely! I get a lot more done being spontaneous! :)

Turn clutter into money, space, and/or peace. How much can you declutter or optimize this weekend to curate your life to fit your Current Self?

I made some progress on my desk last night. Anyone else get into a weird "mood" for decluttering at random times or is that just me? 😂

What is one small plan you have to improve your spending or savings?

One little thing that helps me - every time I get paid, I take out a small amount in cash. No more than $20. I find it's harder for me psychologically to spend cash than to charge it, so it's my backup savings plan. (Yes, I know it isn't getting any interest. But unless it's sitting in a high yield savings account or something similar, it's not going to be earning much of anything anyway.) I don't keep much lying around, once it gets up to a certain amount I do deposit it back in the bank to start the process over again. But it's nice to know that if I needed it, or something happened to my credit card, etc., I would have at least a little something set aside in cash to help tide me over.

@Kurt Mell Good for you! Not an easy task overall, but you did a good job of breaking it into smaller steps too!
What's on your "Squish List"?
So this idea is NOT original to me. It's actually known better as "dopamine menu". The abbreviated version is a list of items that make you happy, based on how easy they are to achieve or how much time they take or how happy they make you. It's funny - I couldn't figure out why a list would make sense, since obviously I know what I enjoy, but when I actually tried this, I was surprised by how many days I get depressed enough I can't think of anything I enjoy (until I look at my list). And of course somehow I corrupted the name in my brain. I don't know when or how I started referring to dopamine as 'squish', but it's stuck ever since. Don't judge. 🙃 Here's my Squish List (in no particular order and incomplete): Sleep Favorite meals/foods Dessert Coffee Pepsi Mobile games TV shows Old-time comedy radio shows Clean memes Budgeting Creating or listening to music Wearing my bathrobe Fresh socks Stickers Stuffed animals/pillows Planners Looking up new recipes Looking at image search results Decluttering/organizing Creating printables or art in Canva Playing computer games VR exercise Spending time with my pet rats Journaling Trying a new hobby Creating jewelry German practice Jigsaw puzzles LEGOs Spending time with family or friends Subscription box or new magazine Reading Writing fiction Talking with ChatGPT Vacation/travel Of just this list alone, I figure twenty-four of those things are things I can do for free. That's a lot of happiness for $0!! What's on your Squish List? Have you spoiled yourself yet today??

What gives you more dopamine: getting something, using something, or owning something?

For me, it's actually more the getting and the owning than the actual using. Kind of sad, maybe, but true! It's why I have so many unread books, never touched planners, and a practical 'shrine' of DnD games and adventures that I am never likely to play. But I love having!!
