Hey guys! Thanks for hanging patient as I was traveling (Sundance) and busy with a few different film projects (Bad Monkey and my own feature film). I'm excited to get the new Marketing Class up this week and also start hosting some more Q+As. Let me ask a question: How many of you are currently working on a pitch to investors? I'm thinking of putting together a LIVE class about pitching next week.

THE BIGGEST CLASS YET! Coming up this week!
Why ā€œBuild Your Audienceā€ Is Breaking Filmmakers - The Best Film Marketing Advice for 2026 Every single F*king article tells filmmakers the same thing: ā€œJust build your audience as you go.ā€ ARe you as sick of it as I am? What they don’t say is: - That’s a second full-time job - Marketing is no longer post-production... it’s permanent (aka EXHAUSTING) - There’s no real ā€œwrapā€ anymore - And suddenly you’re not making a film… you’re building evidence for one Somewhere along the way, filmmakers became: 1) the artist 2) the marketer 3) the community manager 4) the proof-of-concept And burnout gets really real. I’m working on a new Skool class that breaks this all down honestly: - what actually changed in indie film - what distributors really mean by ā€œaudienceā€ - how to do less without killing your project - and how to stop turning filmmaking into a never-ending content job It’s going to be a survival guide. If you’ve felt this tension then drop a šŸ”„ or comment ā€œfelt thisā€ so I know I’m not the only one seeing it. More soon.

šŸŽ¬ START HERE — Film Lab Society
This community is for independent filmmakers — whether you’re writing your first feature, finishing a short, navigating festivals, or trying to figure out how to turn one project into a sustainable career. If you’re looking for gear reviews or film school theory, that’s probably not what this is. If you want real insight into the business side of filmmaking, you’re in the right place. The problem we solve: Most filmmakers know how to make a film. Very few are taught what to do after it’s finished. Film Lab Society exists to remove the guesswork and explain how the industry actually works — with no fluff. Start here: 1ļøāƒ£ Watch the Film Business / Festival Strategy overview 2ļøāƒ£ Explore the Case Study posts 3ļøāƒ£ Introduce yourself and ask questions — participation is encouraged šŸ‘‰ Skip the fluff. Learn how the film business actually works.

Welcome to our New Members this week!
Welcome in @Ignacio Raffa , @Lidor Shalev , @Jeffrey Edwards , @Andres Irias , @Mike Mawson , and @Erick Szot ! Really excited to see this community growing — and even more excited about who is joining. Film Lab Society exists to be an honest, no-fluff space to talk about the real side of filmmaking: strategy, festivals, momentum, and how one project actually leads to the next. The fact that more filmmakers are finding their way here tells me we’re building something useful (and long overdue). If you’re new, feel free to: • introduce yourself • share what you’re working on • ask the question you can’t get a straight answer to anywhere else This is a low-ego, high-curiosity room. Glad you’re here. — Quincy
