We talk a lot about *cloud computing*, AI, and digital transformation. But there is a fundamental question we often forget: **Who actually controls our digital infrastructure?** Today, the dominant model looks like this: ☁️ *The Hyperscaler Model* We rent our servers, storage, tools, and sometimes even our software from a handful of very large companies. It is convenient. It is powerful. But the more data and infrastructure we put into these ecosystems, the harder it can become to leave them. Our dependency increases. And part of the value created by our digital activity leaves our local economy. --- 🏠 Another possibility *An Open Sovereign Model* Build local infrastructure using: • Standard hardware • Open-source software • Open standards • Backward-compatible systems • Locally controlled data • Multiple providers instead of one • The ability to migrate without starting from scratch Sovereignty does not necessarily mean **building everything ourselves**. It means, above all: **being able to change providers without losing our infrastructure.** This is where **backward compatibility** becomes extremely important. --- 💰 And what about the economy? The current model turns a large part of IT into a *recurring expense*. We continuously pay for: → Storage → Compute → Networking → Services → Licenses → Data transfers → Ecosystem dependency An open model can instead turn part of these expenses into **infrastructure that we own and control**. The goal isn't to claim that local infrastructure is always cheaper. The more interesting goal is: *reducing the cost of dependency.* And keeping more of the economic value within our communities. --- 🌱 This is where Nova comes in. We don't simply want to build **“another cloud.”** We are exploring a third path: *Sovereign + Open + Backward-Compatible + Local-First.* We don't need to destroy the old world. *We can build a bridge.* Because true digital freedom isn't: > “We have our own system.” It is: > *“We can use, understand, modify, and leave a system without losing our digital world with it.”*
