Monday Spark | The Masks We Wear
“𝙏𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙩𝙧𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙚𝙡𝙨𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩.” – 𝗥𝗮𝗹𝗽𝗵 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗼 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 In today’s fast-paced world, where external pressures can often shape our thoughts and actions, staying true to ourselves is no small feat. We’re bombarded with messages about who we should be, what success looks like, and how we should navigate our lives. And so we “𝘱𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘬” that society teaches us to wear and soon it becomes a part of us, so much so that we can lose sight of who we actually are at our core. However, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦 𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴. But sometimes this is easier said than done. As a life coach, I believe that one of the most profound journeys we can embark on is the journey to self-acceptance. It’s about peeling away the layers of societal expectations and rediscovering who you truly are at your core (taking off the “mask”). This process requires courage. Courage to stand firm in your values, to listen to your inner voice, and to honor your own path. 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲. 𝗜𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗬𝗢𝗨, 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗸𝘀, 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀. So today, take a moment to reflect on what makes you uniquely you. Celebrate your individuality and give yourself permission to be unapologetically yourself. After all, that’s where your true power lies. Let’s start this week with a renewed commitment to authenticity. Be bold, be brave, be YOU. 🌟 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻: what is one “mask” you’re going to put down today? What is the mask that is hiding your authenticity? Share in the comments below.

That is so powerful Caro. I love being self and it is refreshing and I feel light. I don't like unnecessary pressure of being like what the other person is like or what they want me to be. Naturally a reserved person and introvert (by nature) found it to be a form of protection in a way because I normally stick to self, refuse what is unnecessary unless it adds value to my whole being. I don't like pretending to be what I am not, if I don't have, I don't have. If I don't know, I don't know and would rather be enlightened. If I cannot afford, I cannot afford, so the list goes on. What I know I love is learning everyday and continue learning. Thank you for bringing it up because a mask can also peel on its own, even without taking it off, and results is unwelcome consequences with it. I would rather be me and learn everyday of my life, it's a truly liberating spirit and stress free. Am sure keeping up appearances is tiring 🤣
YOUR IDENTITY SETS THE LIMIT
Your life will rarely rise above the identity you keep defending. You can set bigger goals. But if you still see yourself as someone who gives up, plays small or isn’t worthy, you’ll keep returning to what feels familiar. What belief about yourself is holding you back? Share the belief you’re ready to replace. 👇

@Carolyn Melnick From previous experiences I started feeling like I am always ill especially whenever I attempted doing anything significant. I am leaving that notion behind. I am not defined by anything that affects my well being.
