Investing, but very few are consistent
Quick Question for Everyone: I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what actually moves the needle when you’re trying to build wealth while having a young family and a normal job. Most people talk about investing, but very few are consistent with it while keeping life simple. Right now I’m living in a caravan with my partner and our 17-month-old daughter. Little rent. Car almost paid off. Stacking as much as possible into the house deposit while still investing every month. I’m genuinely curious where are you at right now? Drop a comment and tell me: 1. What’s your biggest money goal for the next 12–24 months? 2. What’s one thing you’re doing right now that’s actually moving you forward (no matter how small)? A couple of my holdings at the moment: • WDS (Woodside) has been a strong performer good oil & LNG exposure with some hydrogen upside, though I’m not sure how that side develops long-term. • Uranium plays (URNM and a few others) still look structurally strong to me with nuclear demand growing. • Silver (physical + ETPMAG) as a hedge. No fake humblebrags. Just real talk. I’ll be replying to as many as I can. Let’s help each other stay on track.

@Matthew Alchin Hey man, my goal is still to keep investing in the 'safe' etfs with the idea of selling them further down the road as part of a house deposit. The economy will significantly dictate the performance of many stocks so keeping some money in the bank to make the most of opportunities is key. I am still trying smaller hobbies / hustles. Nothing serious, mostly for the learning experience and fun of it - I have been building and publishing small games built with AI, and have had a look into copy trading crypto - Again not serious but worth a shot. I saw that future metals (fme) went up a bit on Friday ( thanks for the advice on that one ). I might have to buy some Woodside as well. Would love to hear your plans too 👍

(Reply with one quick thought e.g. “more polls”, “live streams”, “member wins”, “shorter posts”, “dad memes”, “weekly challenges” whatever feels fun or useful) No long answers needed one word/emoji or one sentence is perfect. Even a single 🔥 or thumbs up tells me the rhythm is working. A few exciting things coming soon: • Weekly live stream locked in once we sort a solid spot in the caravan (or nearby) casual chats, Q&A, motivation drops, investment talk whatever the group wants. • Growing courses/modules over time (personal growth, investing basics, dad-life hacks, mindset tools) bite-sized, actionable, built for real life. • More ways to connect (spotlights, challenges, themed weeks) we’ll keep adding what feels right. This isn’t a sprint it’s a lifetime build. Numbers grow when the value and vibe are real, and I’m here for the long game. Your support (even silent) fuels it. @Matthew Alchin 🔥👍 Posts are solid and I always look forward to reading them each day, I think some more investment chats would also be beneficial to start a conversation. Looking forward to the live streams 👍

@Matthew Alchin Yeah it's definitely hard to know right now as the markets change every day as the economy changes so fast. Could also be good to just talk about what is happening in the market and what has influenced it rather than trying to predict the future right now. Definitely stuff to lean from, especially with crypto moving so fast currently.
Would do buy....
Just a question/thought. Would you buy stock from a company that is against your personal morale beliefs or ethical? Yes, you could make a pile of money in the future but do you believe in the products they make? I have some stock with Nova Nordisk but my personal belief on what they make does sit with me. I rather sell and buy more gold EFT. This is my own personal belief and no judgement on people who have bought stock with this company. Just my thoughts 😁

@Shawn Douras that is quite a good question, I know that their products are not focused on the good of scoicety but if they weren't supported by the general public then the company would collapse. If views of the company were to change suddenly with the realse of eg. An unknown side effect of the drug, then perspective would change and stock price would crash. I would buy knowing that my investment would not significantly support the company, but it is all personal opinion.
Bearish Warning on 2026 Markets? 📉
Hey legends, Just spotted this take from David Bird he’s going against the grain, calling for a negative S&P 500 year in 2026 (double-digit downside possible). Big banks are all clustered bullish: Oppenheimer 8100, Deutsche 8000, Morgan Stanley 7800, UBS 7700, Goldman 7600, JP Morgan 7500, Soc Gen 7300, BofA 7100. That tight consensus? That’s often a red flag for risk like in 2022 when almost no one saw the bear coming (he did). Markets aren’t random chaos; they’re patterns if you study them. His playbook: Play defense in 2026. Not cash out stay 80% in, but smart, protected positions. As Buffett says: Rule #1, never lose money. I’m sharing this not to scare, but to prep. Long-term grind means protecting gains through cycles like this. Early days, but worth watching. I’ll keep dropping insights as they come let’s learn together. What’s your take on this setup? Bullish, cautious, or something else? No pressure, just curious 👇 Keep the long game strong. 💪📈 Do you think it’s going to rotate into commodities or something else?

@Matthew Alchin Yeah, a crash is definitely possible this year. My plan is to diversify with some gold to try stay in the green 📈. The s&p 500 is a 10 - 15 year investment for me so if it drops significantly I will make sure to keep some money in the bank to buy in. We can plan for the future but you never know fully until it happens. Knowing that downturn in the stock market is coming will make it less of a shock when it happens, I bought a some more Bitcoin last week because the significant drop to 94k ish making it as cheap as mid 2024. Don't see this time as a loss - see it as an opportunity 👍👌
