Writing Music?
Just curious -- I generally have instrumental music on in the background when I write (I find stuff with lyrics distracts me). I tend to listen to Danny Elfman on shuffle when I'm writing. I know a lot of people like Spotify stations but I don't use them because they're evil (you gotta pick your battles). Does anyone else listen to music and -- if so -- do you have a go to artist or album?

i use a specific website that has amazing ambiences. i don't have the link right now but i'll send it in when i'm at a computer. i personally use either Data Centre or Scriptorium.
Evening, all. How the hell do I get my players to care about doing anything?
I run games at my local high school. So, so many of the players (students) just sit in front of me and stare at me with dead eyes. These kids are good kids, too! And I don't want to fall into the boomerism of "kids these days are addicted to their phones", but it's like none of them even want to do anything, they just wait for me to say something, try and make a Marvel-esque "zinger", and turn the game into a shitty comedy routine. I gave them a goal, I gave them like 10 different places to go or people to talk to, just as a beginning, and they didn't do anything. The campaign is ending tomorrow, but does anyone have advice for next year's game?

@Josh Hughes Thanks for the advice. I'm sure gaming with creative teens is fun! One of my home games with teens went great, they always had me on my toes! If only these players were creative. They don't do anything. There was no script, it was mostly sandbox in a Kids on Brooms magic school. I (metaphorically) said "there is a prophecy, the world will end in three days if you don't do anything. You have a friend named Sydney who specializes in cosmology, about 3 professors who you can go to to talk, the archivist who manages the archives that hold every prophecy that was pertinent to the school, and your fellow students, particularly these three which have fancy names." On the neurodivergency factor, I myself am autistic. My best player (a grade 11) was also autistic. I fear that the problem is just that I got stuck with mostly ninth graders. The finale session is this evening, I'll reply with the outcome.
