@Sal Di Giallonardo 1. Country: Sri Lanka 2. Word that's difficult to pronounce: croissant (this is not the most difficult word for me, I guess. But, this I see everywhere nowadays and honestly felt a bit difficult for me to say it. 3. When I speak, I think I use "Like" as a filler word more often.
Wednesday Dad joke…😂
Here’s a funny pronunciation twist: tearable and terrible sound very close, so the joke plays on that little difference. - tearable = something you can tear - terrible = very bad English is full of tiny sound changes that can completely change the meaning — and sometimes even create a dad joke 😄 Did this joke sound tearable… or just terrible? 👀😂 Let me know if you liked it!

Happy Sunday everyone! What are you doing today? Let's see if we have some time to write and practise some phonetic transcription! ✍️ Writing the IPA is a great way to memorize the symbols! We will only use sounds we already studied: /ɪ/ — /iː/ — /ɜː/ — /θ/ 👉 Part 1 – Can you read these words? Write the normal word: 1️⃣ /θɜːst/ 2️⃣ /θɪŋk/ 3️⃣ /bɜːd/ 4️⃣ /θriː/ 5️⃣ /ˈsɪŋɡl/ 6️⃣ /ˈpiːpl/ 👉 Part 2 – Write the phonetics Write these sentences in IPA: 1️⃣ I think 2️⃣ Three people 3️⃣ The first bird (Use only the sounds we studied.) 💬 Write your answers in the comments. I’ll post the solutions later today.

Sorry @Sal Di Giallonardo, still I don't remeber symbols. Need to study them properly.
🔊 Pronunciation changes how your English is perceived!
Pronunciation is not a small detail. It changes how your English is perceived. A lot of learners focus on grammar and vocabulary first. And yes, those matter. But pronunciation is what carries your message. You can know the right words…but if your pronunciation is unclear, your English can sound less confident, less professional, and less effective than it really is. Good pronunciation helps you: - sound CLEARER - sound more CREDIBLE - feel more CONFIDENT - get understood faster And no — this is not about sounding “perfect” or losing your accent. It’s about making your English stronger, clearer, and easier to follow. 👉That’s why pronunciation matters so much. It's not just what you say. 🤝 It's how your English arrives. ❓ Question for you: What do you feel pronunciation affects most: confidence, clarity, or credibility ⁉️ TGIF!!! 🥳

@Sal Di Giallonardo I think credibility builds once others understand us clearly. And confidence builds when we feel we've delivered the message clearly and know others have understood us. So, clarity is very important. Am I correct here?
