Big moves in OIL AND STOCKS
The US is close to a deal with Iran. That's it. That one thing is why oil dropped below $100 a barrel, why the S&P hit new records, and why your portfolio is probably green right now. When geopolitical risk declines, money flows back into equities quickly. That's not luck. That's the market doing exactly what it always does. What you should take from this: volatility isn't random. It has a cause. Learn to identify the cause, and you stop panicking every time red shows up on your screen. The guys who sold during the Iran conflict just watched the market rip without them. Don't be that guy.

Welcome, Introduce Yourself to Six Figure Vet 🙌
Your raise hit. Now don't be stupid with it.
Most of you got two checks you weren't expecting six months ago. 3.8% pay raise. 4.2% BAH bump. Plus, the $1,776 Warrior Dividend Trump pushed through. For an E-5 with dependents, that's an extra $200–$400/month plus a one-time $1,776 sitting in your account right now. Here's what's gonna happen to 90% of it. New truck payment. Concert tickets. A weekend in Vegas. Some new plates at the gym you'll use twice. A girl you met at the bar last Saturday. Gone in 90 days. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 just posted its best month since November 2020. Up 10% in April. Magnificent 7 carrying the index. Fed held rates. Earnings revisions are going up, not down — which almost never happens this time of year. Translation: while you're deciding what to spend your raise on, the people who already own the index just got paid. This is the gap nobody on base talks about. Not a rank gap. Not a clearance gap. An ownership gap. The guy who put his last raise into VOO is up double digits this year. The guy who put his last raise into a Charger payment is paying $700/month for a depreciating asset that loses value every time he starts it. Same paycheck. Two completely different lives in 10 years. So I want to hear it in the comments: Where's your raise going? Be honest. New gear, new ride, new account, paying down debt, or "haven't thought about it." No judgment. I just want to see where the room is at. I'll respond to every comment today.

The income gap nobody talks about
Most Marines I know make between $ 40K and $70K a year. That's fine if you want to be fine. But "fine" doesn't pay for the house in the neighborhood you actually want. "Fine" doesn't pay for your kid's private school. "Fine" doesn't get your wife out of the job she hates. "Fine" gets you a truck payment and a Tuesday at Buffalo Wild Wings. Here's what I've seen. There's the income you earn, and there's the income you'd need to live the life you actually picture in your head when nobody's watching. For most guys, those two numbers are not even close. The gap is 3x. Sometimes 5x. Sometimes 10x. And every year you don't close it, the picture gets a little blurrier. You start telling yourself you didn't really want that life anyway. You start calling it "unrealistic." You start calling guys who have it "lucky" or "born into it." That's the lie that keeps you stuck. The S&P 500 closed at a record 7,230 on Friday. Apple beat earnings. The AI rally keeps printing money for people who own the right assets. Meanwhile, most of us were taught to save 10% of a paycheck, which wasn't enough to begin with. The math doesn't work. It was never going to work. You don't out-save a small income. You out-own it. Let me know in the comments where you want to be monthly

I'll go first $100k per month!
Where do you want to live?
Most people won't say it out loud. That's exactly why they stay stuck. There's a psychological principle most guys miss: humans will work harder to avoid looking like a liar than they will to chase their own dream in private. When your goal lives in your head, you can quietly let it die, and nobody knows. But when you put it out in front of your community, your name, your face, and your reputation are now attached to it. You stop negotiating with yourself. That's the whole game. Public commitment is leverage on your future self. So here's the post. Two lines. Don't overthink it: Where I live now: Where I'll be living within [X] years: I'll go first. Right now: Sogamoso, Colombia. Next: a penthouse in Bogotá, and a beach house in Miami. Not "someday." Locked in. Now your turn. Drop yours in the comments. Be specific. The vague version is the version that doesn't happen. City, type of place, timeline. The guys who post are the guys who move. The guys who scroll past already told you everything you need to know about them.
