Mint Do you dry yours?
I got two types of mint last year and I dried a good amount of it. I went to make peppermint tea yesterday and its gone lol seems my daughter has taken a liking to it. So now I'm off to propagate some more plants from the ones I have so I get more this season lol Do you dry any of your Veg/herbs?

@Sam Hill It grows more like a little bush I guess. It dies in the winter and comes back next spring. But I kind of struggle to make it come back. So I tend to propagate my parents' one every spring...

@Sam Hill We make our own compost but we also buy soil every now and then. Following Charles Dowding's principles.

@Sam Hill Yes!
Parsnips, so many Parsnips
This is the second lot of Parsnips we have pulled now, the first lot we did just before Christmas for Christmas dinner :D And we have been enjoying Parsnip and Apple Soup. Let me know if you would like the recipe, and I'll ask Nick (my hubby) which one he used. These are the ones we pulled up at the weekend, thats all of them now, I wanted them out of the bed, haha, so I could prepare it for new things. Lots of soup incoming, I feel. Do you grow Parsnips, and if so, what do you use them for?

How nice! I never tried parsnips. Maybe this year!

@Sam Hill Interesting! Does it need a light soil, like carrots?
WELCOME TO THE GARDEN SHIFT GROW-ALONG 🌱
You’re in the right place if you want to grow fruit + veg in real time with normal people (us) who are learning as we go. This is year two for us. We’ll share what we’re doing each week, what’s working, what’s flopping, and we’ll keep each other going through the messy bits. Start by saying hello below 👇 1. Where are you growing? (country is perfect) 2. What are you most excited to grow this season? 3. What’s the one thing you want to do differently this year? (Photos welcome — mud pits included 😄)

@Sam Hill Right now, I have kale in the yard and that's about it. Perhaps some chards and rocket. I am in France, Brittany, so the weather is pretty similar to the South of England. And I'd love to grow tomatoes, courgettes, peppers, lettuces, potatoes, sweet potatoes, leeks, carrots...
