User the garage door as a baseline. Two car garage is 16â Looking at this image, you could tell that the roof line goes about 2 feet past the garage door and both sides. Itâs now youâre at about 20 feet. Then, when you look at the roof above the entranceway, you can see the right leg and a left leg of the pitch on the roof. Since you know one car door garage is about 8 feet wide, then imagine if that is about the length of a one car garage door, roughly. so it is from what Iâm seeing. So now you have 8 feet on the right and 8 feet on the left. Plus a little bump out to the left to the right for the roof to come away from the roof so itâs another one to 2 feet so letâs just say thereâs another 20 feet there. So to the left of the front entranceway porch roof you have that flat roof and yeah figure thatâs maybe another 10 feet. So roughly youâre looking at about 50 feet on the first floor. Using the garage door method, looking at the roof above the garage door and the second floor letâs just genetically and quickly call that 20 feet. Then you have the double roof to the left letâs say that the small roof is about 12 feet and then thereâs that short leg that is about 4 feet and then you have that long leg on the back roof which is probably 13 feet to 15 feet. So now the second floor is looking like 12Ă2 is 24+4 is 28+ the 20 is 48 so letâs just round off to 50. So at the bottom and the top youâre at 50+50 = 100. The reality is that this is such a small project that sure you could add 10% or 15% but you know if you have to add another 10 or 15 bulbs thatâs not gonna freaking kill you, now if itâs a house that has hundreds and hundreds of feet then yeah youâre gonna wanna be a bit more accurate but for a quick and very quick quotes, my math works good enough for me.
