@Luke Morn Hi Luke. Welcome
AI for job interviews
I've recently been supporting my 17 year old daughter apply for part-time jobs via the typical online job sites. The process has almost become a assortment of questions, quizzes or even using a chat bot to answer questions. Last night she took part in a recorded interview for a large supermarket. She was asked two questions and her response was recorded for 60 seconds which will likely be analysed by AI. Do you think this is a step to far or should AI be used to select appropriate candidates for a job?

@Matthew Williams I’m agreeing with you, tricking the AI with a ‘fake’ CV to get an interview but it doesn’t sit right with me. It seems like social media and AI is telling us the way we should behave and live (getting a little deep for this thread).

@Matthew Williams You were very clear and concise Matthew. In the UK (where I'm from), organisations (small and large) typically buy into a software system that is sold to them by a 3rd party. The customer typically does not know what they want so, the 3rd party sets it up for them on their behalf. It's then very difficult to know which game to play - the AI game (3rd party values) or the job advert game. I've done many pre-interviews with my daughter, different companies (sometimes rivals) and its the same questions but a different job. I think companies see this as a cost cutting measure however they are getting candidates which do not align to the actual job or company values. It's just a shame my daughter is caught up in this new wave of AI interviews. Maybe in a few years it will be more streamlined!!!

We need to consider that everyone has a preferred learning style which may be different depending upon the topic or subject. It's a bit of trial-and-error, finding out the best way forward and be prepared to start over if things are not working.
User experience
How do you think advancements in AI will transform the way we access information online? A few years ago, I would rely on Google to find specific information, but now I often turn to ChatGPT first because it’s faster and more intuitive. However, when it comes to more structured platforms, like an e-commerce website, how might a more advanced AI reshape the experience? For instance, could AI create a fully personalized shopping journey, where the website anticipates your needs, offers tailored recommendations, and even assists you in real-time through natural language interactions? How might this change the way we interact with online platforms in the future?

Amazon are to announce Alexa + I'm wondering if this is the way forward without screens and a UI.
