Bad week for crypto?
Bitcoin just had plenty of reasons to fall. But It didn’t. This week gave crypto investors almost everything they supposedly didn’t want. 📈 A hawkish Fed 🏛️ The CLARITY Act hitting a roadblock 💸 More Bitcoin ETF outflows ⚠️ More uncertainty around rates and liquidity And yet Bitcoin so far has held up really well. That interests me far more than another prediction about where BTC will be next week. Because I’m becoming increasingly convinced that the old “Bitcoin 4-year cycle” isn’t enough to understand this market anymore. I think macro matters more. Rates. Liquidity. Government debt. Bond markets. Inflation. Central-bank policy. And eventually… debasement. Raoul Pal’s longer-term argument is what I’ve been following for the last 4-5 years. Governments are carrying enormous debt loads while ageing populations put increasing pressure on public finances. If the long-term response is continued monetary debasement, then scarce assets and productive technology could become increasingly important. That doesn’t mean Bitcoin goes straight up. It certainly doesn’t mean altseason starts tomorrow. But it does make me question the idea that we can simply look at a halving date, count forward a certain number of days and know where we are in the cycle. This week was a good example. The headlines looked worse than the price action. And when an asset refuses to fall despite bad news, I was very much paying attention. My focus going forward is increasingly on: 👉 Global liquidity 👉 Inflation 👉 Interest rates and bonds 👉 Bitcoin dominance 👉 ETF flows 👉 Regulation 👉 How Bitcoin actually reacts to all of the above Not a date circled on a four-year-cycle chart. I could be completely wrong — and I’m always happy to change my view when the evidence changes. But right now, I think macro is driving crypto far more than the halving clock. What do you think? Is the Bitcoin 4-year cycle still alive — or has macro taken over?

@Peter Duffy You get about don’t ya mate! It’s looking that way isn’t it. I was about to get in around $0.68 and I’ve end up buying at $0.99 😂😂 fuming with myself but in the long run, this is still an absolute steal.
Are the government really paying 5.7% on GILTS?
5.7% guaranteed returns from UK government bonds… so should investors stop buying index funds? For years, interest rates were close to zero and many of us felt forced into the stock market if we wanted our money to grow. But things have changed. Today, some UK government bonds are offering yields of around 5.7%, raising a big question: Should long-term investors still be buying index funds, or are bonds suddenly the better option? In my latest video, I compare: ✅ UK government bonds vs index funds ✅ The risks nobody talks about ✅ What happened in 2008, 2020 and 2022 ✅ How I’m personally thinking about asset allocation in 2026 I’m not telling anyone what to buy—I’m simply trying to help normal working people make better financial decisions. What’s more attractive to you right now: a potential 5.7% return or the long-term growth of global index funds? 👇 Let me know in the comments, and if you’d like the full video, type “BONDS”.

@Peter Duffy I’m easy brother, what ever works best for yourself.
£500 a month to change everything?
“You can’t afford to invest £500 a month in the UK right now.” I hear this all the time. And I’m going to say something unpopular: Most people don’t have an income problem. They have a priority problem. Yes, the UK is expensive. Energy bills are a joke. Food costs are up. Rent and mortgages are painful. Taxes feel endless. I get it. But here’s the uncomfortable truth: If investing matters enough to you… You find a way. You cut back. You earn more. You stop financing things you don’t need. You stop upgrading your life every time your income goes up. Most people say they want financial freedom… But their spending says otherwise. £500 a month invested isn’t “impossible.” It’s a decision… I wasn’t born understanding money. I had a difficult relationship with it for years. Right up until I was 35 - in 2018. What changed everything was understanding this… Nobody is coming to save you. Not the government. Not your employer. Not your pension. You either build wealth intentionally… Or spend decades hoping things somehow improve. Here’s the crazy part: £500 a month invested consistently could completely change your future. Not overnight. Not next year. But over 10–20 years? That’s where lives change. The real question is: What are you sacrificing today that your future self will regret? Agree or disagree? @Peter Duffy Love this mate. Please forward it to my Mrs as she won’t listen to me.
Crypto pain 🤬
How’s everyone feeling about crypto… To be honest I thought liquidity would have had a positive impact on the market by now but clearly not… I’m doing my best to stay neutral and to try and remain positive… I’m not sure what we have in store for us for the rest of 2026 - I don’t think many people do. I remain bullish long term but short term F*** knows… It wouldn’t suprise me if the clarity act gets passed, the Iran conflict gets resolved and the market picks up… but it wouldn’t suprise me if it chops for many more months to come. What you thinking?

@Peter Duffy I’ve been following a couple of lads on YouTube who both predicted this would happen so I’m pretty happy I’ve held off as I’ve got a few pennies I wanted to dump into crypto. As you say mate, with crypto you have got to massively zoom out or it will eat you alive! Long term bullish, short term not so much.
