My Re-Up
VISION: Being a top-performing goalkeeper, starting in one of the top-tier leagues in Europe (Germany, England or Spain) and getting to play for my national team. #1 RESULT: By the end of the season: Being fully recovered from my injury back in top shape and find a way to get playing on a higher-level team than the one I am right now. NEXT GOAL: 1. Be able to walk with no crutches in an air walker with no pain (by the end of next week) 2. Improving on the tactical aspect of the game as well as bettering my physical shape in areas I'm still able to train for (end of injury - 6-8 weeks) ACTIONS 1. Map out a clear schedule that includes mental and doable physical training as well as time for physical therapy and recovery for my foot (by today) 2. Create a new nutrition plan given my new activity level and goals (by today) 3. Find a place where I can borrow out a magnetic-field-therapy machine over multiple weeks and go get it (by this friday) 4. Learn about visualization techniques to train passively (by tomorrow) What do you guys think? Any ideas or things I can improve on?

@Andrew Pannenberg That‘s great, thanks for the feedback! I‘ve specified my vision, and it would be: „consistently starting for my national team“ And for the Actions: I‘ll work on getting them more specific. Meaning I should always include either a time frame for it or a very concrete single act right?

Hi, looking forward to this! One of the things I'd like to discuss is about what to do when injured: I can't really do anything at the moment because I fell back on my foot injury. How do I stay productive and what do I do with all the free time I suddenly have? What do I do to stay in shape while injured? This has led me to just laying in bed feeling sorry for myself the last few days. My second question is this one: I just arrived in Germany from Spain this year and got into a soccer team I feel is way below my level - I used to train four times or more per week with the team, this one only trains two or three times. We don't do any gym work and the tactical level is not on point. I tried getting into other teams that have a higher level, but those only invite players to trials, they don't take any requests. How do I manage to still get better even though my current team situation is not challenging enough and how do I manage to be seen by higher level teams?
New Podcast Ideas
What up Killas- I am excited for the relaunch of the Sports Motivation Podcast, on Feb 21. I wanted to check in with you guys and get your feedback....What sort of topics do you want me to discuss on the podcast moving forward? What are some of your challenges and problems that you want me to break down? What do you need help with?

How to deal with external bad influences - people telling you you need to rest because you‘ve been doing a lot, or resisting to temptations (and vices) like excessively getting together with people that don’t think the same way as you do. I know too much time with those people can be bad and lead to falling off, but I still enjoy to sometimes hang out to disconnect for an afternoon or so - I’ve noticed it also helps me to afterwards be more focused, but I know I sometimes do too much and get influenced easily. I struggle with finding the right amount of sometimes giving yourself a “treat” without falling back into a pattern of abusing certain pleasures.

@Niyi Sobo My family (even though they don't get to that much anymore because I now live alone) as well as college friends - I know that spending too much time around them can be bad, but I still sometimes enjoy being with them since it helps me disconnect.
Hi!
My name is Pauline and I'm from Spain but I recently moved to Cologne, Germany. I am a soccer goalkeeper and law student and have high ambitions and goals in both areas. Starting off in anew country has been a challenge but I am now fully here and trying to find the best way possible to fit both things in my schedule effectively :) An SMP episode that has kept me going over the last few month is "how to deal with being injured" - I was not able to play and felt like nothing would ever work out since I was just getting miles behind everyone. Now I am almost ready to play again and feeling ready to go for it! Another episode I have always enjoyed is "how to visualize like an olympian": It has helped me realized how important visualization can be and is to this day the best guidance I have tried. Very happy to be here and looking forward to get to know you!
