Well said. I feel the same way as you about the magic that teaching has when well executed. The System sucks all the joy away when data sheets are more important than humans educational needs

Since we know that some schools are data centers and not learning institutions. Teachers who still have the zeal should steal every moment that they can find to teach how you want . Like sharing books and curating lessons around the book or interactive lesson ideas as extra credit or an incentive. After testing season ( especially in May) that was the time I could use my teaching creativity and dive into more research/project lessons. Hope this helps.
