The reason I’m learning Korean is that I want to immigrate there and live among Koreans. I already have an older Korean sister (순종 누나). She’s not my biological sister, but she cared for me when I was little, and my siblings and I have always called her our older sister. She even refers to my parents as “Mom” and “Dad.” I visited South Korea last year for a month and had the chance to live with 순종 누나. She gave me a proper Korean experience; I was able to visit and see many of her friends and family. The month also allowed me to visit and tour so many cities. The entire experience deepened my love for Korea, which is why I’m determined to become fluent in the language.
