Paul’s Passive House
I’m currently designing and installing a Passive House retrofit. For those of you that are interested, you can follow along here. https://youtube.com/@earseduction?si=wPcuedDrnhFX3Q91
My new overhangs…
Just finished installing some overhangs. These should keep my windows dry and shaded this rainy season. I used this tool to calculate the installation height above the window so as to maximize the shade in summer and still let in the sunlight during the cold winter months. https://www.susdesign.com/overhang/ Hope some of you can put this tool to good use.

How do I join?
I bought a geodome.
Same as this https://harmonydomes.com/ it’s the 20’ diameter version. I’m looking to insulate it. Any thoughts?

I won’t be using spray foam. The aerogel insulation rolls look promising. I did opt for the insulation package and its wool fiber in a roll. I bought two of these domes for the price of one used. They were never installed so they are like new. I live in Denver so I’m not worried about moisture. I plan on installing an HRV for fresh air and a heat pump to keep things warm/cool. However I do plan to install a significant amount of thermal mass to assist with heating in the winter. I’m getting some shading designed for the summer months. Honestly I’m not worried about the temp. I’m more concerned with building to the passive house standard, and thoughtful construction that incorporates passive heating and cooling. I think as long as I address the seal around the base, I should be air tight. Thoughts? Suggestions?

@Ben Mengden I’d love to get something drawn up similar to what you suggested. Do you offer that service?
Passivhous retrofitter working in Denver
Good day. I’m new here and looking to connect with folks who love design. I need to bounce my ideas off of someone and get good sound advice. I also offer my own thoughts and expertise freely and would love to talk with any of you.
