The Vanishing Act After the Invoice: What’s Really Going On?
This season, we’ve seen a curious trend—plenty of calls for assessments, detailed site visits, and genuine interest in eco-friendly lawn care. But once the invoice hits their inbox, silence. It’s not just ghosting—it feels like a shift in how people perceive the value of labor. Are budgets tighter? Is DIY culture making folks hesitant to invest in premium service? recommendations??

I had issues with fall off as well post payment. Not a lot of return customers, especially when the summer season ended. I found that providing free knowledge content really helps drive customer engagement and retention. Something as simple as weekly emails on... say advice on the optimal usage of their sprinklers will be percieved as free value and they will always have you top of mind for lawn and garden care. Even if they decide to call and ask you a question. You have a warmed lead and can say, well I have a service that provides that and it cost $X. Even if you don't have that service yet, the skill sets of the employees are transferable. Hope this helps!!
