Safety glasses?
Anyone else wear safety glasses under the visor? Ive always personally worn them. I keep 3 packs of milwaukee clears and tinted safety glasses handy. Theyre ansi z87+ rated which makes them impact resistant. Nice for when im riding with the visor up to protect the eyes and an added layer of protection incase something kicks up and hits u in the face and breaks the visor. My coworker came to worth with a black eye cuz a truck kicked up a rock or chunk of rubber. It caved in the visor and gave him a shiner. I told to wear safety glasses. The milwaukee 3 pack is like 23 bucks at home depot the arms are flexible enough they dont give u fatigue or hotspots around the ears. And for roughly 7 bucks a piece if they break get lost what ever its not really a big deal. So curious if anyone else out there does this. If you dont, u might consider it. U only get 2 eyes and u can never be to safe.

@Daniel Tolomei thats absolutely mandatory. Something about wearing goggles on dirt bikes and having eye pro on for work all the time just gave me the nagging feeling that they were needed under the visor. Especially when i got my helmet and stamped in the visor it said not impact resistant. The only one i have that is is my HJC RPHA 1N. Which is a track rated lid required for track days and the ones motogp riders wear. Then after i got the R1 i had been riding for maybe 2 months and saw a YouTube video of an 18 wheeler blowing a tire and a chunk of rubber caved in this guys face shield and tore up his face. From that day ive never ridden without eye pro

@Jeff Causey those will work and theyre probably eye pro. Look on the arms or lenses, id bet somewhere on there is an ansi stamp or z87+.

Little desperate Beginner Technique questions // Difference parking lot<->Real traffic
Today was my first ride again since a couple of weeks due to the snow and ice on the roads here in Belgium lately. As a recently new rider i don't have much experience except from my driving lessons for a 125cc and the practices from Dan (Smartridingdrills). I practiced in a parking lot and there i do am able to make the corners, focus, do the right movements, BUT once i get in traffic and i need to do some maneuvers at intersections i kind of feel lost sometimes, and i think it has to do with couple of things - I dont know in what gear i need to be before making a turn, i sometimes downshift but then i slow down to much, followed by increasing throttle, what makes a instable movement of the bike - I dont know exactly if you slow down before an intersection if you downshift one by one, releasing the clutch in between, or keep the clutch pressed in and downshift to 1while braking ? - - I really want to improve my driving and be able to drive smoothly all the time, but i dont know where to start ?

Practice makes permanent. U just have to do it enough unit it becomes second nature and u do it without having to think about it. Right now in traffic ur brain is on information overload. And falls back to its base programming and intuition. Biggest thing to remember is the bike follows ur eyes. Concentrate on looking where u want to go and the rest will fall into place.

I use an LS2 Advant X on the harley. Many complaints from others out there about the weight but i honestly dont see what their talking about. The lid is insanely comfortable out of the box. It is modular but the chin bar has a 180 degree swing so it sit on the top back of ur head. About the 10 o'clock position if ur looking at it from the right hand side. Has built in "sunglasses" that lever down. Comes with a pinlock and shaded and clear visors. Plus and protective bag and cool little carry backpack. I love that helmet. Been on 12, 14, 16 hour rides with it and no issues or fatigue. With the bar down and visor closed its very quiet. No wind noise or flow inside making it nice on chilly days. On my R1 on the street i use and HJC RPHA 11 Pro and track the HJC RPHA 1N (same lid motogp riders wear). HJCs are incredibly light incredibly safe and very aerodynamic. At speed the helmet almost disappears and u hardly realize ur wearing one. Down side is they are a bit on the drafty wind noise side which is nice on hot summer days and with 32 decibel NRR ear plugs the wind noise disappears and i can still hear music on my cardo. I very much recommend any of the three. They are pricy but worth it and all ece 22.06 and fmvss rated which is pretty much the gold standard for helmet safety ratings.
Any Detecht app users?
Any "Detecht" users here? I love that little rider app. I love that it will alert your friends/family (of your choosing) if you get into an accident. The only downside is when it THINKS you crashed and you only have 30 seconds to cancel before it sends out the alert. However, I much rather it send out a false SOS than not activate for a real one.

What causes the false alarm. Hard braking?
