Thank you, @Hope Windsor! So, short version: five years ago, my husband, our teenage daughters, and I moved from Portland, Oregon, to Florida to attend Bible school! I’ve loved Jesus and believed in Him all my life, but it wasn’t until everything got turned upside down in 2020 that I truly encountered the Lord. Until then, I don’t think I really understood what it meant to actually follow Jesus. Through a series of confirmations and a growing desire to seek Him with all my heart, we took a leap of faith and moved clear across the country, something I NEVER considered! In fact, I always said I could never live far away from my mom and family. But God! 😂 Anyhow, as the Bible illustrates throughout (something I learned after the fact 🫣), God often leads us into seasons of wilderness and isolation where He stretches us, grows us, and prepares us for His purposes. That’s exactly what I’ve been journeying through these past few years. And honestly, it’s kind of cool to realize I didn’t know this was how God works until after I obeyed. Now, I’m getting back into alignment and seeking Him wholeheartedly so that I can receive whatever He intends to do as I learn to yield and surrender my will to His.
