Tēnā koutou katoa – if your marae, hapū, iwi or community group is planning a major building or upgrade project, the Lottery Community Facilities Fund (Te Tahua Hapori Ngā Whakaurunga) could help bring your vision to life. Next round opens:➡️ 12 November 2025➡️ Decisions by: 18 February 2026 https://www.communitymatters.govt.nz/lottery-community-facilities What you can apply for - Building or extending community facilities (marae, halls, community centres, sports spaces). - Capital works over $50,000 to make facilities safer, more useful, or more accessible. - Seismic assessments and strengthening for earthquake resilience. - Feasibility studies or design work for large projects. - Upgrades that improve health, safety and accessibility – e.g. wharepaku, ramps, heating, or fire safety systems. - Start pulling these together now: - ✔️ Trust Deed / Constitution - ✔️ Latest financial statements - ✔️ Project plan – what you want to build or upgrade, and why - ✔️ Budget + quotes from builders or suppliers - ✔️ Proof of land/facility ownership or lease - ✔️ Design plans or feasibility study (if needed) - ✔️ Community support evidence – hui minutes, letters, surveys

Kia ora tātau e hika mā. I've been a trustee for Te Rauhina marae since 2019 so not long. Spending time at the marae is always a highlight for me. Trying to keep our marae open and functioning for our people sometimes comes with its trials.
