Anxiously completing projects in time forJan. 16th launch!! These are the colours in my stash! Hoping they’ll create enough contrast .. Happy belated birthday Zanete!

@Annette Heimann I think we’ve chosen similar colours! We must have similar tastes! Can’t wait to see how both of ours 🧶 knit up!
A crazy mix
I am taking the call to use stash very seriously, and trying to use only yarns that are left over from other projects or that I only have one odd skein of. This has proven to be quite a challenge, but I think I've finally come up with a plan and I've managed to meet gauge (using US 6). Since most of my stash is Lace and Fingering, all color categories will involve at least 2 yarns and up to 4 held together. In all, my yarns will incorporate 5 different weights (Cobweb, Lace, Fingering, Sport, DK) and 10 different fiber types (Camel, Yak, Silk, Bamboo, Cotton, Linen, Merino, Superwash Merino, Nylon, Lyocell). In the end I decided to use one solid yarn for "D" that is very close to my "B"—I'm doing the cardigan and I hope it will bring all the craziness together in a cohesive manner. I'm prepared that this might be an epic disaster, but it's going to be a great learning experience and I'm excited to jump in and enjoy the process.

Super interesting colours and yarn .. and weight combinations! Admire your ability to combine yarns to achieve gauge! Can’t wait to see your sweater unfold ..
Uncertain about colors
I’m nervous it’s too bright 😅. Pale pink is color A and bright pink is color B. Too much pink? I adore the blue (color C) so I don’t want to do anything I might regret 🫠

Very pretty!
Colorwork tension
I'm excited to start MYAL this year but colorwork scares me. I've tried two hand knitting - work looks pretty but doesn't stretch. I've also tried holding the yarn on one finger (continental), then it works unless I have to trap yarn, so it becomes messy. I'm quite a tight knitter so it's a nightmare that it's not working for me. I've frogged more colorwork than knitted. When I try to knit loose, the stitches are too long and floats still short. I've added a photo to show of one color vs two colors when knitting loosely on multiple colors. What am I doing wrong and which technique should I try for tight knitting? Help a girl out 🙏

Another tip: in addition to stretching the stitches, try turning your knitting inside out. I find this helps to lengthen the floats!
Yarn choice
My Yarn choice Now that I look at it on the Photo it’s actually a bit borring To add a bit of fun I should do the steeked version (never done this before … comming to think of it I never did a stranded colorwork cardigan anyway so the borring colors may cool down the exitement) I could go bold on color D to celebrate the glorious finish😂

I agree with you! A bold D would really spice it up! Are you thinking something in bright yellow or pink or purple hues? Or possibly a lime green? Seems very trendy right now to have bright contrast colours for cuffs and hems! And I’m the same, having never done a steek .. a little frightening .. unsure whether to go there or not!

Love to knit .. sometimes for myself but mostly for family and friends. Always wishing the day was longer and could carve more time out for knitting.
