Post 2: Livery Concepts — First Round
LIVERY CONCEPTS — First Round Before the widebody kit gets finalized, the livery design runs in parallel. The truck's final look is a combination of the body shape, the color, and what goes on top of it. We're exploring several directions: → Clean and minimal — sage green with no livery at all. Let the widebody and the color do the talking. → Heritage motorsport — subtle striping or number panel referencing classic BMW touring car liveries. → Full sponsor integration — designed around partner logos and member names on the livery vinyl. → Something nobody's done — open to concepts we haven't thought of yet. The livery is also where Founding Members and future Boost members get their name on the truck. The design has to accommodate that without looking cluttered. Which direction speaks to you? Or drop a reference image of a livery you think we should be studying.

This is where the E53 X5's future gets designed before it gets fabricated. AI-generated concepts, livery iterations, aero development, and the real process behind using AI as a design tool for custom automotive work. FIRST DROP: DESIGN DIRECTION The X5 build has two visual lives. Stage 1 is the truck sorted and on the road — sage green, blacked out trim, custom forged wheels, clean and understated. Stage 2 is something else entirely. We've been running AI design iterations on a custom carbon fiber widebody kit. The brief: GT3/GT4-class aggression applied to a 20-year-old SUV platform. Functional aero surfaces. Haunched rear quarters wide enough for 355-series tires. Carbon fiber panels with visible weave contrasting against the body color. Here's where we are. Here's what's working. Here's what isn't. And here's where your input shapes the next round. [Upload 2-3 of the sage green stock renders followed by 3-4 of the aggressive widebody renders] WHAT'S WORKING — Carbon-to-body color transition reads engineered, not bolt-on — Rear haunches are aggressive — planted from every angle — Roof rails stayed. Still an X5. That tension is the whole concept — Splitter and diffuser reference real GT aero WHAT NEEDS WORK — Rear needs to grow for 355s — current renders don't reflect the width difference front to rear — Carbon coverage extends too far into the doors on some iterations — doors should stay body color — Side skirts need more presence with a visible aero undercut — Exploring front canard elements ahead of the wheels This is not a finished design. It's a direction. And it keeps evolving — some iterations driven by engineering, some by aesthetics, some by what you tell us is wrong. What would you change? What references should we be looking at? Drop it here. The next render round incorporates the best feedback. Go WOT.

PARTS BOARD — How This Works
This is where WOT members help each other source smarter. WHAT GOES HERE Found a deal on a part? Post it. Include the part, the price, where you found it, and whether you've personally bought from them. "I saw this" is useful. "I bought this and here's what showed up" is gold. Looking for a specific part? Post what you need with your platform and year. Someone here has probably sourced it before and knows who has the best price, the best quality, or both. Supplier reviews — good and bad. If a vendor shipped fast and the part was right, say so. If they sent the wrong thing or ghosted on a return, say that too. FIRSTHAND REAL EXPERIENCES ONLY. Group buys. If enough of us need the same part, we negotiate together. When a group buy is active it gets its own pinned thread. Minimum 5 members committed before we approach a supplier. WHAT DOESN'T GO HERE No selling your own parts or flipping. This isn't a marketplace. If you upgraded your brakes and want to sell the takeoffs, post it in Your Build as part of your project thread — not here. No affiliate links without disclosure. If you're linking something you earn commission on, say so. We're all adults. No "I heard this brand is good" without receipts. First-hand experience or data. Forum rumors don't help anyone. THE GOAL Every part sourced smarter in here saves someone real money. If this category saves you one wrong-part order or points you to a supplier you didn't know existed, it's doing its job. Post what you know. Ask what you don't. Go WOT.
