Grassroots games
Played grassroots games for the first time in a while - really enjoyed it. Played against a team a year up, too

@Preston Oldfield thank you
football boots
i am currently using adidas boots while playing in goal but was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for the best boots to use as a goalkeeper or is it just depending on you you feel comfortable in.

🛡️ The Most Overlooked Piece of Kit in Your Bag!!!
Attention Keepers and Parents! We all know the excitement of unboxing a fresh pair of J4K gloves, but did you know there is one piece of kit even more important for your development and safety that most keepers completely overlook? It isn’t the boots or the gloves—it’s Padded Protective Compression Base Layers. The Reality Check We see the pros on TV diving on "bowling green" grass that is perfectly manicured and watered. It looks effortless because their landing strip is soft. The reality for most of our community is different. You’re likely diving on rock-hard, uneven council pitches or dry, abrasive 3G turf that feels like sandpaper. Keepers: You cannot wear the same unprotective gear the pros wear on those surfaces. Parents: Letting them play without protection increases the risk of joint impact injuries and those dreaded, beyond-painful grass burns that take weeks to heal. Peace of Mind for the Match You should always have protective base layers in your kitbag. If you turn up to a game and see a hard, dry, or patchy pitch, you’ll have the peace of mind knowing you are ready for battle. Designed to be worn discreetly under any match kit or training gear, these layers provide: 🛡️ Total Protection: High-impact padding specifically for the "strike zones"—hips, knees, and elbows. ⚡ The Confidence Boost: When a keeper knows it won't hurt to land, they dive without hesitation. That split-second of "will this hurt?" is often the difference between a save and a goal. 💪 Pro Fit: Skin-tight compression that stays in place and fits perfectly under your club colours. The Bottom Line: Don’t let a poor pitch or a hard landing ruin your season or dent your confidence. Parents & Keepers: Take responsibility for your safety. Make sure you’re protected so you can focus 100% on the next save!

3G pitches causing cancer
Has anyone heard about 3G pitches being carcinogrnic. There is a ban on the rubber they use on 3G pitches. Not a scaremongering post - the government have banned the rubber that they use. As GK we are more likely to come in contact with it https://committees.parliament.uk/writtenevidence/100118/html/
