Real Talk!
What’s something you swore you would never do as a parent… that you totally do now? 😅 I’ll go first: “I will never hand my kid an electronic at a restaurant. They’ll learn how to keep themselves busy without it!” ✨ Cut to me handing my 5 year old ABC mouse as soon as we sit in our booth 🤦🏽‍♀️ ✨ But here’s the deeper question: Instead of guilt… what if we asked: 👉 Is this survival mode? 👉 Or is this aligned with the kind of parent I want to be long term? Parenting isn’t about perfection. It’s about awareness + growth. Drop yours below — funny or serious. Let’s normalize the real stuff. 💛 Bonus reflection: What’s ONE small shift you want to make this week?

For me, the kids need to eat what I cook. If they don’t they will go hungry; guess what I found myself cooking 2 different meals some times. They never go hungry 😋 even when they don’t eat my delicacy especially.

@Kayla Dixon it’s difficult, cooking 2 different meals for sure. It’s not something I do all the time though. There is always options for left overs in fridge or cereal if they don’t want to eat what I make. Some times, I get them to cook what they like too. It’s just that they can be picky especially with my native food, which I totally understand.
Welcome!
💬 Let’s Get to Know Each Other I’m so glad you’re here—and I’d love to learn more about you. This community was created to be a supportive, judgment-free space for parents and families, and that starts with connection. Parenting can feel isolating at times, and my hope is that no one here feels like they’re doing it alone. If you’re comfortable, introduce yourself in the comments and share a few of the following (answer as many or as few as you’d like): 1️⃣ What’s your name (or what you’d like to be called)? 2️⃣ How many kids do you have and what ages are they? 3️⃣ What’s one thing you’re currently loving about parenting? 4️⃣ What’s one area you’d love more support, tools, or encouragement in right now? 5️⃣ Just for fun: coffee, tea, or both? ☕🍵 There are no right or wrong answers here—only real ones. Thank you for being brave enough to show up, whether you’re sharing today or just quietly reading for now. You belong here, exactly as you are 🤍 I’m really looking forward to getting to know each of you and walking alongside you in this parenting journey. — Kayla Oh!
