Thursday Check: Storm Prep
Happy Thursday everyone! There is a storm rolling in where I am at today, so I am currently running around prepping for that and making sure everything is secured. It honestly got me thinking about how we handle unexpected storms in our daily lives, especially those sudden cravings that seem to come out of nowhere. When a bad craving hits you fast, you just have to prepare and pivot. 💪🏻 What is the weather like where you guys are at right now? Is it storming for you too or do you have some sunshine?

Quick poll: The ultimate distraction snack
Happy Wednesday! I’ve got Voicemails for Isabelle playing on Netflix right now, and it reminded me that keeping your hands and mouth busy during a movie is a massive life hack when you are cutting back on smokes. 💥 If you are settling in for a movie tonight to keep your mind off an urge, what is your ultimate weapon of choice?

Tip Tuesday: Using your sense of smell
We talk a lot about taste and touch, but your sense of smell is a massive tool when quitting. Try keeping a bottle of essential oil like peppermint, eucalyptus, or citrus at your desk or in your bag. When a craving hits, open it up and take a deep breath of the scent. Not only does it shock your system and calm your nerves, but it also reminds you how incredible it is to actually smell things clearly again. What is a smell you have started noticing way more since you cut back on smoking? Let us know in the comments!

Which exercise helped you the most to quit cold turkey?
Which exercise helped you the most to quit cold turkey? Any exercise cardio/strength training/breathing exercise.

Honestly, cardio is an absolute lifesaver when you go cold turkey. When the intense cravings hit, going for a hard run, a fast bike ride, or even just a brisk walk completely resets your brain. It forces you to breathe deeply and fills your lungs with fresh air, which makes you realize how much better you feel without the smoke. A close second is definitely deep box breathing. Whenever an urge hits, inhale for four seconds, hold for four seconds, exhale for four seconds, and hold for four seconds. It completely mimics the deep breathing pattern of smoking, so it tricks your brain into calming down instantly. You got this!
