Just recorded a short on the cheapest way I've found to build your own Ahrefs. Ahrefs Lite is $129 a month. My setup runs on two things: - OpenSEO (github.com/every-app/open-seo): an open-source Ahrefs alternative (22,600 GitHub stars). This is the dashboard. - DataForSEO (dataforseo.com): the API that feeds it keyword, backlink and ranking data. Self-hosting OpenSEO costs about $5-10 a month (or FREE if you're just using it locally. DataForSEO is pay as you go, roughly $0.05 per 1,000 keywords. You pay for the data you pull. Not a monthly seat. (Heads up: DataForSEO's minimum top-up is $50, but it sits on your balance until you spend it.) OpenSEO also has an MCP, so Claude Code can pull your keywords, backlinks and rankings for you. Hey y'all, I have been radio silent recently, and it's because I've been in the kitchen cooking up some banger automations. But I'm also opening up my freelancing again, to land a few extra clients, and build up the cashflow while I build this community. The cool thing about this is that I'll be making more automations that extend beyond SEO/GEO. Marketing OS is literally the AI system that I use on a daily basis that automates my SEO and GEO strategies. Right now what I'm working on is making this as easy as possible to set up and to start using in whatever AI of your choice (I use Claude Code). It's a "second brain" that you attach to your AI that has context about your business, your goals, and if you're an agency, all of your clients, so that when you ask for an output, it has all of the contacts pre-loaded, ready to go. The way I'm building this is it's going to be a CLI tool. CLI tools pretty much allow you to use commands in the terminal so if you use AI -- it can use the commands that you've created. It's super token efficient. This is what I've set up for work and I use on a daily basis. I also have set it up for my personal as well and for creating the vibe marketing lab. I want to be able to give this to you guys to be able to use and set up, and even iterate to your liking. One thing I'm doing is making onboarding for you guys as seamless as possible. I'm creating a dashboard that will allow you to set this up automatically, just going through each thing step by step, and then you can go ahead and start editing it once you point your AI to the folder.
