Today 2/07/2024 (now yesterday) I joined Day 2 - Analysising data using PowerBi class where I learnt about how to prepare data by cleaning, transforming and loading data. I got introduced to the Power Query Editor to clean up and shape data to meet reporting needs. Cleaning data is very important in data analysis because it makes information user friendly. I used functions like replace values, rename, combining multiple tables with the use of append and merge and also learnt about the advanced editor function to modify M Code. I also learnt to import data files and data profiling, trim and clean, unpivot columns. All data cleaning steps on the Power Query Editor are recorded on the right hand pane and I can undo any mistakes just by deleting the last/ previous steps on the steps recorded.This is a very insightful lesson today and I am looking forward to watching the recorded videos on PowerBi data cleaning to consolidate my learning.I had really issues with the network connection that impacted my access, kept been thrown off and on, couldn’t connect on time.

Today, I started my intensive training with Clap Academy, attended the onboarding session where I accessed all the platforms for the trainings, the communication platform, accessed the Skool community. I also learnt about the certification PL - 300 exam process. The introduction to MS Power BI, learnt about creating dashboard, reports, data cleaning and modelling, story telling, etc.Key tasks achieved today:Logged on to MS Office 365, created my academy account, baseCompleted onboarding, started unravelling Power BI, got introduced to other members on the training.
