Building a Life That Feels Like a Deep Breath
There’s a moment that happens when you first arrive somewhere new—especially somewhere slower. You notice the quiet. The way the light hits the buildings. The fact that no one’s rushing, and no one expects you to either. And for the first time in a long time, you take a breath that doesn’t feel stolen. It just… belongs. This Is What We’re After Not just a different job. Not just a new address. A completely different rhythm. One where: Mornings aren’t chaotic Lunch is taken seriously Rest is respected Beauty is built into your day A life where your nervous system isn’t just managing—but actually resting. You Don’t Have to Hustle to Deserve This You’re not required to “earn” your peace by burning out first. You’re allowed to choose softness now. And whether your version of that breath is in a Paris apartment, a Provençal village, or a vineyard you wander after client calls—you get to build it. That’s What We’re Creating At La France Plan, we help you move to France—logistically, emotionally, and beautifully. At Le Digital Nomad Society, we help you create flexible income that gives you options, space, and freedom. Together? We’re not just planning moves. We’re building lives that feel like deep breaths.

Hiya I saw this and wanted to share
https://nypost.com/2025/03/11/entertainment/rosie-odonnell-confirms-she-moved-to-ireland-after-trump-election/?utm_source=chatgpt.com Just saw that Rosie O’Donnell actually did relocate to Ireland after Trump’s re-election — wild seeing one of the celebs actually follow through! Makes you think how real the option of moving to Europe is for folks wanting a different vibe or more stability. With everything going on politically, a few of us have started seriously chatting about what life could look like in places like France, Portugal, Ireland, or the Netherlands — not just for lifestyle but for sanity and opportunity. Anyone else here ever considered a Euro move? Curious what countries are top of your list and why.

In France, Rest Isn’t Earned—It’s Expected
If you’re used to glorifying busyness, scheduling every minute, and feeling low-key guilty for watching a movie without “being productive”... France might feel like a different planet. And honestly? That’s kind of the point. Let’s Talk About the Cultural Reset In France: - People pause in the middle of the day (yes, really pause) - Sundays are sacred - Rest isn’t something you “earn”—it’s just part of life You’re not rewarded for burnout. You’re not applauded for answering emails at midnight. You're encouraged to live. What That Looks Like in Real Life You might: - Take a two-hour lunch on a Tuesday and not feel bad about it - Walk to the market every morning just because it brings you joy - Close your laptop at 5 and not think about it again until tomorrow Life in France isn’t lazy. It's just less performative. There’s less pressure to prove how hard you’re working—and more space to actually enjoy what you’ve built. Retirement in France Isn’t a Finish Line—It’s a Lifestyle Whether you’re officially retired, semi-retired, or just craving a softer season of life, France offers something a lot of places don’t: - Permission to slow down - A culture that supports it - And a rhythm that makes it feel normal, not indulgent The French Don’t Romanticize Rest—They Normalize It What feels like a luxury to us? To them, it’s just… life. That’s what La France Plan is here to help you access. Not just the visas and the logistics (though we cover those too)—but the actual feel of French life. The slow. The soft. The deeply satisfying enough-ness of it all.

That rest sounds great if only the rest of the world would catch up, we would have happier healthy people

@Helen Wallworth that’s wonderful and taking care of yourself is more important because when you are always busy the body doesn’t get the rest it needs as we were created to rest to rejuvenate then the body holds that and sooner than later it turns into trauma and we end up sick or the body holds that just shut down without even a warning.
Why Walking Is Underrated—And Where Feeling Like a Local Begins
Let’s be honest: in a lot of places, walking is what you do when your car breaks down. But in France? Walking is a way of life. Not a chore. Not something you track. Just the beautiful in-between of your day. Here’s What You Start Noticing When You Walk More: - You talk to your neighbors - You pass the same café dog every morning and feel oddly bonded - You start recognizing the smell of boulangeries before the door even opens - You move at the speed of real life—not rush hour And maybe most importantly: You slow down without even trying. You Don’t Need a Wellness Tracker—You Need a Sidewalk In many French towns, things are designed for walking. You don’t need to “schedule movement” when the market is around the corner and your favorite café is 10 minutes away. You’re not squeezing steps in. You're just living—on foot. The Invisible Benefits of a Walkable Life - You actually know your neighborhood and neighbors - You’re not constantly in transition between Point A and Point B—you’re in it - You discover tiny joys: handwritten signs, a new boulangerie, a stranger’s cat sunning itself in the same spot every day - You start to feel like a local, not a visitor Walking Is Freedom It’s the freedom to move without traffic. The freedom to pop out for wine, cheese, and conversation. The freedom to be present. That’s the kind of lifestyle we’re building inside La France Plan. Because walking isn’t just transportation—it’s transformation.

What If Success Looked Like a Slower Morning?
Success used to sound like an alarm clock. It looked like inbox zero, back-to-back calls, and a to-do list scribbled in the margins of a life you barely had time to live. It came with caffeine on an empty stomach, and “I’m just so busy” worn like a badge of honor. But what if that version of success was just one story? And what if you were allowed to write a softer one? Imagine this: You wake up in a quiet apartment in Lisbon or Lyon. Sunlight spills through the curtains, warm and slow. There’s no commute. No meeting until ten. Your day begins not with urgency—but with stillness. You pour your coffee into a real mug (not a to-go cup). You journal. You stretch. You read a few pages of something beautiful that has nothing to do with optimization. Your success doesn’t bark at you anymore. It hums. We’ve been taught that hustle is the only way. That rest is laziness. That softness is weakness. That the good life comes after the burnout, not instead of it. But you’re allowed to unlearn that. You’re allowed to chase something quieter. Something more spacious. Something that doesn’t just look good in an Instagram story—but feels good in your nervous system. At Le Digital Nomad Society, we don’t just help you work from anywhere. We help you belong to yourself again. And sometimes, that starts with a slow morning.
