Getting Value From Post Conferences
Hi everyone, I’m curious what your experience has been with post-production conferences in general. Have you found them genuinely useful for networking and learning, or do they tend to be more worthwhile when you already know people in the industry? Asking because Post Atlanta Conference is coming up in September, and tickets are $249. I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth investing the money as someone looking to re-enter the industry, and where I should set my expectations. Thank you!

@Jim Turner Thank you, Jim. I really appreciate your perspective. The networking aspect definitely appeals to me because I would love to meet new people and hopefully make some friends in the field. Do you suppose it would be okay to bring a few copies of my resume along, just in case someone asks for one?

Hi @Richard Sanchez, I’m glad I attended the post conference! It was quite insightful, and pretty cool to get a glimpse of what the post-production community in Atlanta looks like. I ended up not bringing a resume, but I did exchange contact information with a couple of people. I’ve always been pretty bad at networking and talking about myself, so I've decided to put in more effort and do better. Overall, it was a fun experience. If nothing else, it was nice to hear from the speakers and listen to people share their experiences and journeys in the industry.
